Sweet. I’ve been playing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and there is a ”Crazy Bicycle” mini game and it’s very fun. So if they could take the concept and give us a full blown AAA Crazy Taxi that would be awesome. Thoughts, SW? Are you a fan of the Crazy Taxi series?

Honestly after seeing the success of Helldivers 2 I feel this is a bad move. Charging 70 bucks for a game like this could easily backfire.. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm a big fan of only the original Crazy Taxi. The sequels ruined the formula and from everything I've seen of this new one I expect it to suck too.

I guess they expect that to be good news for people. Doubt they need a AAA budget to make a good Crazy Taxi game, and also doubt that I'd spend 70 bucks on it.

I wonder what they mean by that? Are they going to make it more complex? If this happens, it may take away from the fun. Hopefully they do it right.

Great news still play the 360 version on my Xbox. Still a fun game from time to time.

Crazy Jump is dog shit. Why would you give the player the ability to hop over obstacles in a driving game with traffic? They saw how much bad players were crashing into cars and decided to give them all this big helping hand. Learn to Crazy Through, newbs! The hydraulics that allow the cabs to jump like that also make them bounce up and down stupidly. Low-riders are disgusting. If you wanna jump, find a fucking ramp or crash into a car the right way.

Having fares with more than one customer just complicated the working formula.

I still can't believe that they used the same songs in all three games. How lazy! They had thirty years of punk rock music to license.

Loved the first game back in the day on the Dreamcast but doubt that this will be a game that I’d pay full retail price for. We’ll see.

Did not play it. Did not play Crazy Taxi 3 either because I saw that it carried over the trash from 2.

And this is a good thing?

Look, I welcome reboots, but why make "AAA" status a selling point? That's generally a negative thing these days. I mean, maybe for the plebs it's fine...but for us System Warriors? We should know better! 😋

How do you make Crazy Taxi AAA? It's a fun arcade game with nothing extra than driving the damn taxi as quick as possible.

Highly unlikely. Crazy Taxi is going to be on the same level as GTA?

Just doesn't seem right to make a Crazy Taxi game with that kind of budget.

I think this person is talking through their arse. I mean there is no way CT is going to be a AAA game.

Do people actually think Sega is putting up $50 million+ for this game, really?

I see people still haven't learnt their lessons from last week that you never believe rumours until their confirmed.

I grew up with the OG Crazy Taxi games as it introduced me to the Offsprings band whenever I listen to *All I Want* since I'm from the Grunge era. Anyway, I'm surprised Sega isn't calling this Crazy Uber since well, Taxi kinda become irrelevant in my area lol.

Anyhow, if Sega can make Crazy Taxi a AAA title, then we shall see.

Yes. It is modeled after AAA live service games such as Fortnite. There are plans for live events, collaborations and customizations. The current plan is to create a live service GaaS reboot as well as a remake of original Crazy Taxi.

@SecretPolice: I don’t see how that is a downside to a game like Crazy Taxi.

The first Crazy Taxi for Dreamcast is on my all time top 10 favorites list. I highly doubt that Sega can improve on the game, but I am excited to see the outcome. And yeah, I agree that the sequels were completely devoid of the charm and brilliance of the first game.
