Rise of the Ronin GS & Meta score predictions

Based on all of the previews ive seen (both positive and negative), I'd say 6 or 7.

Skill Up still has the best preview out there, with great points for and against the game.

Assassin's Creed Mirage territory. Skilled Up (I skimmed it) seemed to feel it's uninspired and derivative of Ghost Of Tsushima, and lacked meaningful side content. Oh, well, sounds like Assassin's Creed Mirage in that that game didn't have a fleshed out world with much side content either. MetaScore in the 70s potentially, plus a potential for the typical Sony bump. Unless it's bad-bad I don't see GS going lower than 7/10, I think at best maybe 8/10 but who knows sometimes. Sometimes people love games or hate them, GS has certainly had some outlier reviews.

I will take a guess of 89 or 90 ish.

7/10 would be disappointing. I think the game has a lot going for it. If it turns out to be a weaker version of AC, I'll stay with AC thank you very much.

Review embargo is on 21-Mar, while release date is 22-Mar. This alone tells me that publisher is not confident enough about this game.

I think it will score a 6/10 on GS, and 70s on Metacritic.

Gamespot 10/10 - the rest of the world 7-8/10.

@Life-is-a-Game: Keep in mind we've seen zero gameplay so far from people. So the first gameplay we'll ever get to see that isn't publisher provided will be on the 21st and in some timezones on the 22nd.

They want €70 for this.

Only very few games deserve me paying 70$ day one.

Team Ninja games have scored 80 or above, so I don’t think it will be worse.

Sorry but even €60 was pushing it when games had deluxe editions, day one dlc, multiple season passes, ...

I don't mind paying €60 as long as it's the complete game.

€70 is reserved for titles such as Half Life 3 or Dishonored 3. Or a game I know I will spend a very long time with.

You also forgot about the upcoming AC Red as that game is truly set in Feudal Japan.

Rise of the Ronin is said to be similar to Nioh and if anyone really likes Nioh games, they pretty much got an idea of what to expect the gameplay but for me, I didn't like Nioh at all. So this game is clearly skippable for me and I would have liked it if it's closer to Ghost of Tsushima's gameplay.

Nioh fans will no doubt like this game.

Nioh strength is its combat system. No such thing in Rise of the Ronin. All you do is spam one button for a generic combo chain.

I love nioh but have no interest in ronin, combat looks more like an AC game

Ronin is only similar to Nioh in its aesthetic because Team Ninja is incapable of creating another art style. Mega re-use of assets and animations.

BTW $70 for graphics, animations... like this feels like a rip-off, especially when you look at Black myth Wukong.

And lets not forget how much rehashing they're doing as well. And yes, before someone quotes me reminding the fact that Fromsoft rehashes as well, they do, yea, but they also create so much new beautiful assets, that you barely to ever notice the rehashing. But here, its the same god damn brown shacks from game to game.

My prediction - 7/10 GS (doesn't matter)

79/100 on metacritic.

We all know Team Ninja is incapable of making a game anywhere near the quality of a From Software Soulslike, but though do make fun games with pretty good (but not the best) combat.

I'm thinking this smells like late 70s / low 80s on meta.

Here are the last three Team Ninja games:

Wo Long (2022): 80

Nioh 2 (2020): 85

Nioh (2017): 88

we both want it to be a 10. nothing wrong with that.

elder ring had a dated engine but still got a 10. why not this out dated looking graphical game?

Because Fromsoft has the best artists in the whole gaming industry. And their engine is better than the shitshow team ninja uses.

As i've guessed, the game is a disaster.

A 7 or 8 here and around mid 80s meta give or take a couple points (81-87). Either way it looks bad ass... haters can hate. Hoping for higher than that, but not expecting it after Unicorn Overlord only got an 8 when it is much better than that.

Wow this is starting off incredible.

Shovelware as predicted. And the meta is at 76 instead of the 75 i predicted.

NEVER TELL ME I NEED TO PLAY A GAME AGAIN. I am a professional, i know exactly how the game is gonna be like by simply playing it through Youtube. This is the kind of art form only Evolved Cows have access to, and i fully unlocked its potential.

Pretty sure making Nioh 3 would've been a better business move.

Still want to play it. :P
