I was ready to not be impressed. Bloober Team has been mid as **** ever since they hit the scene and I have zero idea what made Konami choose them for this project
Is it just me or this looked mega dogwater? Firstly, the atmosphere is bleh, and nowhere near as thick as in the original. Secondly, the visuals are pretty ugly for a damn remake. Third, why is his animations look like a game from the 7th gen? This is a damn remake, all they did is put a new coat of paint, and they couldn't put more effort into animations? Then there's also the gun sound (did y'all hear that pistol sound? the **** was that???) and gunplay in general looked like its made by CDPR. And the short clips of gameplay we've seen, it looked like a shitty resident evil, not SL. Pretty much the only thing i liked about the trailer are all the puzzles, especially if they're semi complex.
The dev in charge is trash. They should retire, or be acquired by Microsoft already.

I didn't expect something super great, but that looks awful. Sad that they'd waste an opportunity like this to make a good remake of a beloved classic.

I guess there was an idiot at the top deciding what games are being made who saw the sales of the Resident Evil and Dead Space remakes, and thought "hey, we should remake OUR scary game, the most popular and talked about one, but let's use way less money and talent to do it".
Since 90% of the trailer is combat, it's pretty clear they have no fucking clue what they're doing.
I like it for the most part. They stuck to the feel of the original game. The combat was never meant to be a highlight of the original. It was meant to be awkward as your character is a regular dude.
I am very sure Bloober Team and Konami did the research but how the heck their outcome is "we need combat trailer". Unlucky for Bloober team too they can't hide behind Lems like how Lems hyped the awfully average The medium.

FYI: I was literally the first person to blow the whistle on REDFALL looking terrible and the entirety of the xbox drone (including those hiding behind PC) jumped on me in defense of that dumpsterfire. We all know how it ended.

I really, really hope that was just an early build, and for some reason they scrambled to put it out quickly. I was definitely looking forward to it before I saw this abomination.

It's better to accept what you're seeing instead of hoping it becomes something it's not showing you.
We have to remember it's BLOOBER TEAM who's developing the game for Konami. So...yeah. That was my first red flag but I allowed myself to be hopeful, but nope, now my expectation is aligned with who's making it.

This remake will do well, though. These nostalgia bait games almost always do. It will probably be Bloober's best seller, and they will get contracts to make more horrible games.
It was an odd choice to get Bloober, though I loved Observer and the Layers of Fear games, Blair Witch and The Medium, they never done combat, mostly stealth mechanics if any enemies, and it's an odd choice because even for years Konami was conscious of the series lack of combat evolution and refinement and started opting to outsource to western devs in hopes to remedy that... and yet they still went with Bloober.
Anyhow, hoping for the best here. More for Bloober's sake than Silent Hill's.
That's just not it for me... I mean I might or might not get the game since I loved the original, but this looks like a cheap cash grab. Meanwhile we get the 14th iteration of The Last of Us that no one asked for with more features and better graphics than ever.
I also downloaded and decided to play that free Silent Hill short 2 hour game on PS5... what a bunch of woke bs... lol. I'll beat it just for the sake of beating it, but pushing suicide awareness in a game where the two main protagonists commit suicide? Lost in translation I suppose.
All I have to say is woofy... what the hell is SONY thinking and doing these past few years? Better wake up soon.
