It's many years since I last played a Gears game which does not deviate from the genre - Just a generic linear shooting range killing various bullet sponge monsters and it feels very much like Doom. That said it's ok for passing a few hours, sound and graphics are great but there's nothing new exciting or innovative here. The graphics are good but could have been better and it does feel slightly cartoony and old. Movement is really clunky and the camera is annoying.
EDIT : About 2 hours into the game I have come across a gamebreaking crash to desktop at a specific point in a cutscreen which I have not been able to get past. There seems to be a lot of people complaining that the game crashes during cutscenes after boss fights and they cannot progress the game
