A truly excellent game!

User Rating: 9 | Horizon Zero Dawn PS4

Warning: Spoilers

"Horizon Zero Dawn" it's certainly one of the most beautiful and enjoyable games that has ever been developed. Set aside the poor level of optimization on PC and all the glitches and bugs I've encountered during gameplay, the game it's great and I would place it on the same spot with "The Witcher III - Wild Hunt".

The story of the game is divided in 2 main narrative threads, which made me to like this idea, because at the end of the game, those threads come along together and one world (Elisabeth Sobeck's world) and Aloy's world intertwine to present the one true enemy for both of them. The mysterious vibe that surrounds the past of the ancient civilization and the enthusiasm to find out in which way the wars and the machines of the present day has come to exist, makes of the 2 threads of the story, probably the most complicated and fascinating ones that I've ever met.

Apart from the storyline, there are so many other activities that you could do, like side quests, errands, corrupted zones and so on. This game can't make you feel bored, because there is always something to do. What is the most interesting thing about the side quests and generally about the characters, is the fact that they have the same behaviour as the humans and because of this, you don't perceive them only as some characters in a videogame, but there are some kind of real people, smart, intuitive and emotional, wherewith you can create some deep emotional bonds. An innovative thing I've seen and I've enjoyed in this game is the fact that some characters are telling you to do something, but you don't really have a quest for that... (as an example, take the DLC's subordinate function CYAN; after you defeat HEPHAESTUS and you get the chance to have a conversation with CYAN, it's telling you that you should come visit it often and if you come, you could find some useful things about the elements of the storyline in the main game).

Other elements that I've particularly liked are the graphics (visually the world of Aloy looks astonishing), the animations and the gesture of characters, like Aloy's hand movements and how the characters behave when they are shot. Also it's nice how every machine has some weak points and how those weak points are susceptible to a specific kind of ammunition.

As for the game DLC's, I can't say something bad here, either. The DLC was awesome, with new machines, new animations and new chances to become even better for the main story.

This game is very good. It's certainly one of the most beautiful futuristic games I've played and it deserves only a rating of 9, because as I've already said, I had a very poor gaming experience on the PC, because of the crashes and bugs.
