It's an enjoyable fighter that will please both MK and DC fans.

User Rating: 8 | Injustice: Gods Among Us - Ultimate Edition PS3

NetherRealm's "Injustice" isn't nearly as good their 2011 rendition of "Mortal Kombat", but it is a solid fighting game. It's certainly an improvement over the 2008 crossover title "Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe". Ed Boon and his team of developers have made an over-the-top combat title that perfectly captures the look of epic superhero battles. One of the game's strengths is that each character feels different thanks to their own unique moves and abilities. It's also a highly accessible fighter with easy-to-learn controls and simple combos. While "Injustice" does include a good campaign and plenty of unlockables, its lack of depth is what keeps it from being truly great.

I own the PS3 version of the Ultimate Edition and it's a must-have for both MK and DC fans. All the post-launch DLC content is included on the disc. There are over 60 character-specific challenges, over 30 skins and 6 extra fighters. General Zod, Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Batgirl, Zatanna and MK's Scorpion are great additions to the main roster. Plenty of the skins are recreations of character designs from classic storylines, the New 52 and even Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel". Visually, the game looks fantastic with top-notch CGI-produced character entrances. The Super Moves are also spectacular, though you'll see them more than you want.

"Injustice" is a fighter that plays like fan service. It'll please the die-hard DC Comics fans, but fans who want a deep experience should look elsewhere. This is an arcade fighter that is fast and fun, but will probably get old quick for those who like more technical fighting games. I'd give it an 8.2 out of 10.
