Fun, colourful and unique for a 3DS title Triple Deluxe can offer you a lot all in one game

User Rating: 8 | Kirby: Triple Deluxe 3DS

Past Kirby games have always have some kind of good game mechanic in each game making it fun and enjoyable for any gamer if they are hard-core gamers or looking for a plain and simple game for a casual gamer who doesn't play many games that often. Most Kirby games do tend to be a little easy but they can be fun at the same time past games have had a unique style of gameplay and art when it comes to games that were released on systems like the Game Boy, Wii and GBA. Triple Deluxe does make a great use for its 3D visuals especially when certain stuff like sucking up enemies or even getting slammed in front of the screen; bosses can pop out of the screen just like that the first two bosses are memorable like tree stumps twirl up to the screen or slashes of paint are splatted on the screen making it hard to see on the screen.

Does have a basic story where disaster has struck Dream Land and the ruler of the land Dedede has been taken! Follow Kirby takes intense action of saving Dedede and his epic quest of making things right in his land. You do find out later in the game why Kirby has been summoned and of course saving Dedede, this does feature a special star called the Warpstar giving Kirby the ability to move between both the foreground and background you can move toward or away from the screen. By eating Rainbow coloured seeds, Kirby gains an amazing ability which is the Hypernova which allows you to inhale large objects such as trains and trees. Some of Kirby’s famous powers like inhale, Star Spit, slide kick, air bullet, and floating will also return in this game including 25 different copy abilities.

The fun part is about Triple Deluxe is that there's over 250 keychains to collect all have different types of keychains commemorating Kirby's adventures since the first game was released back in 1992, the StreetPass feature can offer you certain keychains or items from various levels which you can collect if you see a Mii face nearby. Its sub-games are quite addictive too including Dedede's Drum Dash where you guide King Dedede jumping on drums while avoiding enemies and collecting coins to the tune of classic Kirby songs. And Kirby Fighters which is a little similar to Super Smash Brothers where you can customize your own Kirby and give them any of the game's copy abilities to battle other Kirbies in stages based on levels from previous games. There are two more sub-games to unlock but you need to complete the main story first in order to unlock them and yes they do have StreetPass feature as well, however if you don't have a copy of the game you can use the Download Play feature to play Kirby Fighters in a fierce battle mode for up to 4 players.

For a 3DS game was impressed that it still remained as a 2D platformer but instead it’s displayed in a 2.5D perspective, I do like how it was developed as both 2D and 3D platformer its levels are also colourful and cheerful to look at on a small screen. It might be a short game when it comes to beating the main story but you there's still a lot of collecting and also you'll be coming back for more for its sub-games with friends or wanting a challenge on a higher difficulty.
