This game does NOT deserve a 6.5. The reviewer is more upset that the game doesn't play itself, hands free.

This review on Gamespot comes off as someone complaining that they have to use their brain. They are looking for a step by step walk-through without having to figure anything out for themselves... really? If the puzzles are too difficult to figure out without CONSTANT visual cues to TELL you what to do, you are playing the wrong game... so in all, the review is pretty subjective.

There is so much to explore in this game. You really have to be intuitive with the surroundings to solve some puzzles which really isnt a bad thing at all. Sometimes it tells you what to do, sometimes it just hints, and sometimes you may have to look around before you put 2 and 2 together. It makes you have to think, and thats intentional! It IS largely a puzzle game afterall. It doesnt feel like its easy street all the time, which is great. Its nice to have a bit of a challenge. You can have a lot of characters on the screen at once, so yes they may get in the way. But aggravating? Not unless you are extremely impatient...

The movies already have such charm and such a great background for the Lego humor, and once again the Lego guys pull it off. Dont expect anything less there. The levels are very well done and do a good job at minimizing the linear "point A to point B" paths. Visually its beautiful and it really immerses you into the pirate world.

As for features well there is indeed NO online play although not really a real deal breaker, but it still has that divided seamless camera split screen. You have your usual mini kits to collect as well as separate treasures with Jack's compass. I think it MAY have custom character creation for freeplay, but I have not yet reached the point where you can do so. There is an achievement for it so it must be slightly further into the game. It contains the 4th film which is a great bonus as well, so no need to look for a future add-on or new game like Indiana Jones.

All in all, this game is good fun as usual. If you are a fan of the other Lego games IGNORE this silly review, you WILL enjoy it. Its everything you expect.
