User Rating: 8.5 | LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga PS3
From the moment I pressed Start that first time I played Super Mario Bros., I wanted to explore. There were coins and hidden bonuses in strange places, rewarding those who wanted to see every little corner of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Fast-forward 25 years, and we're still fascinated by all these bonus features games throw our way. Trophies in the Smash Bros. games? Got 'em. Hidden packages Grand Theft Auto? 100%. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is no different, offering bounties on bonus characters, vehicles and cheats too good for even Zuckuss or IG-88 to pass up.

And yes, they're in the game, too!

This childish-but-only-on-the-surface Star Wars platformer is full of humor and great platforming action that both kids and adults can enjoy. The wide variety of playable Lego characters is more than just a visual treat, as each of them have unique abilities that allow them to reach new areas or interact differently with the environment.

In Story Mode, six scenarios from each of the six Star Wars movies are re-enacted in full (Lego) detail. Environments are familiar to those who have seen the movies, and exploring them will often reward players willing to destroy windows, walls, or even inconspicuous-looking plants. While you can't technically "lose" the game, or die so much the game will end, the studs you gain as you progress will wither away slowly if you don't stay alive. Studs can be used to purchase - you guessed it - the aforementioned bonus content.

The vast number of characters and vehicles really get to stretch their legs in the game's Free Play mode. Here, cycling through them is as simple as a touch of a button, making you a veritable Swiss Army knife of possibilities. Ledge too high and inaccessible in Story Mode? Make Jar-Jar as useful as he's ever been with his double-jump ability. Dark Jedi powers needed in an Attack of the Clones level? Choose Darth Vader and let the continuity of it all go out the window.

With Traveller's Tales' Lego games come various modes and enough bonus content to keep fans coming for more, no matter what franchise it is. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is no different, and should keep the average gamer coming back for more... and more... and more...
