Character growth continues

User Rating: 10 | Life is Strange 2: Episode 2 - Rules XONE

This episode is the best so far, in my opinion. The Diaz brothers spend a good portion of the episode alone in this cabin in the woods. Supplies are low, Daniel is growing restless and Sean has to continue being the adult of the situation as well as helping Daniel train his newfound powers. It's a nice bit of character growth, Especially for Daniel as he deals with a lot of suppressed rage that could potentially play a part in later episodes.

Later on, after a tough decision, The brothers reunite with their estranged mother's parents (their grandparents) who do their best to hide them as the police continue their search. There's a bit more exploring of the backstory with their mother's past, as she is also clearly estranged from her parents as well, and it's a touchy subject for both Sean, who felt abandoned by her, and her parents, who felt betrayed by her sudden disappearance.

But luckily to break up this depressing part of the episode is the introduction of the prequel character Captain Spirit. This was the highlight of the episode for me and they tied it together so freaking perfect. I love this part and it remains one of my favourite parts of this entire series. Yet sadly, all good things come to an end and the brothers depart once more after things hit the fan. Hitting the road with no clear direction as to where to go or how to get there.

Overall: 10/10
The character building in this episode was great. The Captain Spirit tie in was perfect. It was a great episode overall that does everything right in terms of showing off a wide range of emotions throughout and advancing the plot in the right direction.
