Look, it's tetris, it's by Ubisoft and Q?, no WAIT! It's Lumines, a super combination of both just made 1000x better!
The point behind this game is quite simple, for single player's challenge mode (the mode with which you unlock MOST of the stuff) you have to arrange the bricks that comedown all in 2x2 shape, a perfect square with an assortment of colours, and you have to make another 2x2 or more shape all made up of the same colour. Pretty simple, but addictive due to the presentation and music and pretty much everything that addicts you into any brick game, only better.
Now for presentation, the visuals are just pure awesome, they are completely smooth, high frame rate, and not only that, they integrate and work seamlessly with more that perfect music track. It's an upbeat kind of techno mix which also makes different sounds and effects as you do a particular combo. Also as you progress in the challenge mode, the music and background, basically the whole theme (or skins as they are called in this game) changes 2 minutes or so.
Next There's also a puzzle mode if you get bored of the challenge mode in which you have to make shapes with the bricks, equally as fun as the challenge mode. Theres also a Vs. Mode where you can face off against your friends or the CPU again, extremely fun.
Overall as you can see, this is just super, everything about it is, except the lack of online play maybe, but otherwise if you own a PSP and even just slightly enjoy brick games this is the game for you, so go out and buy it now!
