Why does this keep happening?!?!?!?!

I really thought that this time things would be different. I was willing to accept lack of visual improvements and a graphical overhaul to see a product with great game-play again. I am beginning to think that after almost a decade of tinkering with real-motion this and true-step that, that this is it. This is all we will ever get. A middle of the road, great to look at, but a nightmare to play NFL video game. If only these developers would take a step back to look at the past and fix things instead of trying to re-invent the wheel, then we might see some progress here. Does Madden '19 look great? It looks incredible, there is no denying the visuals look stunning. But it's like having a fancy sports car that you have to push everywhere you want to go. Because the ENGINE is BROKE!!! I really feel that until EA figures out how to incorporate a real time physics engine into this game, we will never see anything change on the game-play front. The canned "physics-based" animations are what really break this game and have done so for the past 6 or more yrs. I have tried to stick with this game in the hopes that I would some how begin to enjoy it, but I can't. The running game is a joke. I welcome a challenge, but the only way to have success in running the ball in this game is to let the computer control your ball carrier for the first couple of seconds before you try to take the control back and 95% of the time cause your player to generate a run halting animation that defies the laws of physics and then you get destroyed by the defense before you can do anything about it. I have reviewed many sports games in the past and I have thought maybe going to bi-annual release, might be the way to go, in order to give the development teams enough time to fix what's broken and to improve upon things that are not. In that off year, you could still release roster patches or additional DLC to keep the game fresh and charge $20-$30 for a season pass, like what is done for countless other games out there. The other option, is to crowd fund a competitor. Without competition and no College title to compete with as well, what is the incentive?? Year after year, we all shell out anywhere from $59-$99 for what has become an absolute joke of a game. Something has got to give or nothing will change. I have gone so far as to re-invest in a PS2, so I could pick up NFL 2K5 and older versions of Madden and NFL Gameday, to get my football fix this year. In closing, I just wonder who actually tested this game out and gave it the thumbs up to be released? It would be acceptable if we were paying $20 and it was pre-release software, but it's not. I have never given up on a Madden title before now. I guess we'll have to wait and see what next year brings. Until then, I will be playing a real football game on my PS2!!
