Minor Bug Issues Aside, This Is A Fun Recreation Of The World Series

This isn't just a baseball sim game; it's a baseball sim. paying homage to the world series. In world series mode, you're reliving and rewriting some of the games of the world series (i.e: Athletics and Giants in 1989) and you have to beat a particular team that to win the world series in that given year in order to unlock the next one. Aside from the traditional game modes found in a baseball sim. game (home run derby, etc.) there's also an "In Your Face" mode along with the world series mode. In Your Face mode is where you and the CPU play a game against each other where you're racking up face points by making spectacular catches, stealing home runs, stealing bases, etc. These points can be used to disable such manuevers as contact swings, lead offs, stealing, etc. The gameplay still needs a little more ironing out. There are still some bugs that hinder with menu navigation and transitioning from one shot to the next during the gameplay. The controls are fine and responsive and the ballparks look nice, but some of the player animations look rather silly at times and the defense could use a little more work when trying to get balls hit into the outfield. Jon Miller and Joe Morgan do a great job with the commentary and the baseball action, overall, is captured divinely here. This is a great game if you're looking for some extra baseball action (The World Series).
