Yes, there is finally a Marvel title as good as the Batman Arkham series! If you enjoy the open sandbox environment, the chain combat, the multiple hidden treats that trophy away, and yes, all the classic comic book characters then this is the Spidey title for you! This game is no different than Second Son, Grand Theft Auto, Horizon Zero Dawn and all those 3rd person sandbox environments that are just FUN to explore and fight in. Swinging around NYC is freaking fantastic and I find myself getting into all the different Spidey suits and gadgets. Before a mission that involves stealth, I geek out on which dark Spidey outfit I’ll wear and have FUN as I try to pick the right powerset. Sometimes I feel like wearing my Spidey punk outfit... the point is the game makes me want to get involved and have FUN! The story, like the Batman games, takes a little bit from all sources - comic books, movies and cartoons - in its own self-contained universe. It’s also one of those few games that makes me want to go for 100% on all trophies as they can be tedious but not unreachable. Comic book and any fictional franchise property take note... if you make a great game of any popular license, you’ll make a bundle of cash! You only have to pick the right developer, and put some heart and soul into the design!
