Spider-Man borrows a lot from other successful open-world superhero games, such as the Batman Arkham series. The combat is fluid and challenging (if you set it to the right difficulty level) and Spidey's web abilities provide many novel and satisfying ways of defeating your enemies. The map provides many additional activities alongside the campaign but there appears to be little that we've not seen in games such as the Arkham series. Navigating the city with web-slinging is incredibly satisfying and the story is decently written, providing you an opportunity to meet many of spiderman's nemeses. The game looks great, the main characters are detailed and animated well with exception to the background crowd NPCs. It's the game that we should have had a long time ago. The only minor gripe is that there appears to be little originality and much of the game feels familiar to other games. I still loved it and was driven to get 100% in the main story and all the DLC.
