NBA 2K13 is a basketball simulation game from 2K Sports.

To start out here, I'm just going to say that NBA 2K13 completely blew me away, especially after I was pretty disappointed following 2K12. Due to the massive amount of different gamemodes that are featured, I'm only going to cover the more major assets of the game.

To start off with what I didn't like first: the Online play.

Online is a rather major part of the game and is the reason that this game isn't rated perfectly. Part of it is just because I've had a rather poor experience online because nine out of ten games will be against the Heat, Knicks, or Lakers. From a technical aspect however, the game performs solid online. The servers seem to be improved from the past, but the fact that driving with players like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant or shooting threes with guys like Steve Novak, JR Smith, or James Harden always seems to convert is very annoying. Server timeouts are a bit more rare, but still can impact games at times.

Other than that, the game plays better than ever.

MyCAREER (MyPlayer) has seen vast improvements across the board, but still has the same core gameplay, so not much has changed.

Franchise mode has seen little to no changes, but that really doesn't matter as it is still a great overall gamemode to kill hours on.

MyTEAM is a new gamemode that I feel could of used a bit more polish. It was a solid addition, and I'm anxious to see how 2K approaches it in NBA 2K14.

The rosters and roster updates have been done much better this year.

To end on a bit of a sour note, I was not a fan of the soundtrack this year, or the VERY heavy Jay-Z influence on the game. We understand you produced it, but my God Jay-Z, lay off the game a bit.

Still those little points aren't really enough to declare the game bad by any means.
