it's not burn out paradise But it's fun and that's whats good about it.

Ah well today's review:

need for speed hot pursuit 3

Story:

Well it's very much less story well no story but who really ever plays car games for the story i mean come on but as it's stated are you "cop" or "villain" me preferably the person waiting patiently at a road block just contemplating why my poor patrol car must be obliterated.

Game play:

Need for speed has had a history of many titles through the years from need4speed 1 need4speed2 need4speed 3 hot pursuit 1 hot pursuit 2 and now hot pursuit 3,

But does it stack up to the legendary games! one answer "yes" in fact it's better with the precision driving and crazy unpredictable "AI" that taunts you when you come across a sharp apex wondering what just happened? what the heck did i just get cheated by the AI, nope was it my driving maybe since the cars are scripted at the start to follow specific routes it's when you get close to them they start to react to you, the more you smash them the more they adapt to your tactics, this i must say is impressive, for example you you try to ram them off the road they will break, if you place a road block off they'll do 180* turn and out maneuver you, while the racing cars are easy and challenging it's the police division that's far more harder, there are variation of different modes to enjoy plus there's free roam in offline mode for you to enjoy.

Graphics:

This game is really polished the cars are almost immaculate from today's comparison, road texture, to rain on the roads, from snow that falls to the breeze that follows down the the mountains and the weathther effects really makes this game shine,

Multiplayer:

Multiplayer is fun it's you pitted against 4 other players while helping out your team mates on 4vs4, there's 1vs1 where you playing in free roam, drive any where with no restrictions while some other player chases you "vise versa" til you run out of air and either give up or get them to give up, you have your traditional races pitted against 7 players all in total 8. but it's the cops vs racers that really makes "hot pursuit" shine.

Sound quality:

Well the sound quality is immersing to here a Bugatti veyron v16 clock at 370 k's only to here a deep sound roar from with in as it climbs in to 7th gear wow breath taking. the car sounds are the games major points, this is one of the reasons I've always loved need4speed for the sound.

Pros:
Great car handling but not all cars drive the same at high speeds.
Creative game design, competitive statuses to keep you and your friends going, rewarding car perks when deployed really satisfies the driver or cop that you're playing, sneaky ai that really challenges you, the police chopper is highly aggressive as if it has it's own conscious and will deploy road strikes when it wants that includes right out the front of tunnel from mid air, or on fence where you will smash in to it, wow

Cons:
When driving and you spike, ecm, and actually damage a car, the automatic ai'd driver that takes over while you're viewing the car that drove over the spike or ecm'ed reverts back to you ending you in wall, another car, or in to rock, but does how ever pass you through road blocks nifty and not,
When you sign up you must register your game if you do not you cannot play online, so if you buy a pre owned version you must pay 800points or PS3 points to play online since the code is is on the back of the instruction Manuel, terrible,
unpredictable road spikes that you cannot tell apart apart from the flashing indicators that appear on the road spikes, so your more likely to end up on your allies road spikes since there is no alert icon displayed for team mates, plus the chopper support always drops road spikes on team members this isn't a bad thing in fact it's kinda funny but grows off you after awhile,
The game has short life it has no free roam or something to give the game an identity since it's the only police game that's actually out you would ask the question, didn't burn out paradise make something like this. yes when it's the same developer.

OK now it's time to reveal some facts

1:never drive a high powered car because the cars weight will most likely smash you in to other cars, later on in the game.

2:Select your right analogue stick as the hand break since it's closer to the thumb and has higher sensitivity when drifting as the button will result in you smashing in to a wall. make it up for hand break.

3:if you wish to rank up fast as police officer play dusty storm it will take awhile but you will get 15000bounty per 3 minutes.

4:if you wish to rank up as racer play the last level you get 50.000 bounty but you must race for 70ks 12 minutes per race.

5:always use nos when coming in to a turn this only applies to[2]if you do not have this setting do not try it.

6:how to do the up hill run as police officer in the Nissan gtr r35,
keep replaying the level after the 6 attempt the cars will smash inside the tunnel resulting in you taking down 2 or 3 cars in first 1 minute of the game, it's hard plus do not use gadgets if you want the achievement.

Overall:

it's a good game just a very short game, it's very much a renter since there isn't any dlc and when 3 months pass and people trade the game in the codes on the game manual will be useless to whom that buys the game, so it's kinda cruel for you.
