This launch title for the Wii U maintains great, classic Mario gameplay that is as pleasing as ever.

User Rating: 9 | New Super Mario Bros. U WIIU
Graphics 10/10: The world of Mario simply looks great in high definition. The colors are bright and vibrant, and the animation is flawless.

Sound 8/10: There are no real issues to be had with the sound effects and music, except that it would be nice to hear more classic Mario music from games such as SMB, SMB 2, SMB 3, and SM64.

Control 8/10: The control is very solid on the new Wii U GamePad. My only complaint here is that sometimes Mario tends to be a little slippery when landing after a jump.

Content 10/10: This game delivers great, classic Mario gameplay and is a fine choice to herald Mario into the eighth generation of video game consoles. The game offers a really nice change of pace if you don't often play sidescrollers, and it has a sidescroller's challenge which is lacking in much of modern gaming. It's a very solid choice for one of your first games for your new Wii U.
