I remember when Octodad first came out and how fun it was to watch popular Youtubers flub their way through the game. I finally had the chance to play through the game myself and I must say its quite a unique experience. Even trying to do the most mundane things as an Octopus can be quite the challenge and the results are often hilarious. You'll be knocking over everything around you making a huge mess yet you need to be careful not to attract too much attention to yourself. This silly story-driven physics game is a real treat to fumble through. So slap on your best tie and get ready to prove to the world that even an octopus can be a fun dad and a loving husband!

Octodad is all about the art of discretion. God only knows how your wife and kids would react if they ever found out that their father was actually an octopus. The best way to blend in is to just try to act normal and help your family with anything they may need. Of course mundane tasks such as making a cup of coffee, mowing the lawn, and going grocery shopping are all a bit more challenging under these circumstances. Your family isn't the only one you need to worry about. A famous chef has his eye on you and he is going to do everything is his power to expose you and serve you up for dinner.

So you may wonder how does one get around on eight legs? You clothing may do a good job of concealing your body but that doesn't make it any easier to get around. See just to walk around to must go back and forth moving one leg at a time. Keep in mind you'll also need to move your arms up, down, and all around to reach different things. None of the movements are very precise so its easy to spill a whole jug of chocolate milk all over the kitchen while your just trying to fill up a single glass. Rarely does the loose and jiggly physics get frustrating, it is actually quite the opposite. Watching Octodad turn the simplest tasks into chores is quite amusing and the results can be pretty ridiculous.

There is no other game like Octodad: The Dadliest Catch and its definitely an amusing experience. The game is relatively short but the story is fast paced and full of memorable moments. After completing the main game their is two extra scenarios; I played one were I took my wife to a dinner date while having to simultaneously work in the kitchen and it was quite funny. I appreciate that the game doesn't take any moments for granted even letting you play through the intro and ending credits. The writing is spot on and awkward moments lead to laugh out loud dialog. A silly short game like this isn't going to be for everyone but if you can pick it up on sale its an experience worth checking out.
