Loved every moment of it

User Rating: 9 | Ori and the Will of the Wisps PC

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a sequel that does justice to its predecessor. I am not looking for Ori to re-invent the wheel but here they kept the platforming strategy and spiced it up with some quality combat.

My favorite part of the game is the world-building and story progression. The art style and environment beg to be explored and really instill a sense of child-like adventure and excitement. The kind of feeling you got as a kid when you explored Hyrule.

The difficulty ramps up slowly but surely as the game progresses but you have so many tools at your disposal and the controls are so tight that it's easy to master the skills needed to never feel stuck. Furthermore, the puzzles flow very nicely and it makes the game very methodical as well as rhythmic.

The soundtrack accompanies you along the journey and really brought out so many emotions. I felt happiness, grief, excitement, and fear as the game progressed and I'm going to need a few days to process the ending.

I look forward to seeing what other masterpieces the game studio releases in the future.
