Good game, but ultimately has too many flaws.

User Rating: 7.5 | Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 PS3
Before people start flaming on me, I have always played PES. I know this is a totally new system but it is way too flawed and has buggy gameplay. When I first got it, I rated it a strong 8.5, but now after a good amount of gameplay, I do not highly rate it.

PES says that we have more freedom. I call **** Yes, the passing system is more free, but everything else is more locked down. The players on your team are straight out stupid. The AI hasn't improved at all. The reaction time has barely improved. There are times that it takes forever just to pass a ball.

The cursor change has gotten very poor. It doesn't know where to change. I want the cursor to change to a player IN FRONT of the attacker, but guess what? It changes in the back, "because that player is a bit closer." THe cursor has frustrated me many times.

Again with the AI...players move to where its most incomprehensible. For example: In a corner, I pass on the ground so I can pass back. Guess where the corner kicker goes? It goes near a defender! Its not that the defender goes to it, but it goes to the defender! Thus the pass back completely fails.

The game feels more played out too. I used to hate FIFA for having it so predictable, but PES 2011 is even more predictable. Most than half of the times, a slow defender can catch up to an extremely fast dribbler. That just doesn't make sense. Its like saying Nesta can catch up to Pato from 10 feet away. Sure Nesta is a good defender, but he's slow.

Defending is atrocious. The players fall for every single tackle, and a foul is called. Forget about doing slide tackles. My defending has always been slide tackling, and I excelled at it in previous games. But this year, slide tackles are fouls. When its a clean slide tackle, they call a foul. When its clearly a bad one, they sometimes completely ignore it. Defenders can always handle people that are abusing the run button, but its extremely hard to stop somebody just cutting the ball and waiting for the defender to make a move.

Lastly, your OWN players get in your way. You wanna clear the ball? Well, too bad because your own player just got in the way and stripped the ball from you. Now the cursor change fails, and both players go away from the ball, and the opponent takes the ball and scores. All these things are mostly based on online gameplay.
