Potential is there but needs polish

User Rating: 7 | Quantum Break XONE

Audio:
They brought along a very talented cast that boosts the game's story a lot more than it should have been. So my hat is off to them.

Visuals:
For the most part it's fine. I think the effects of your powers could have looked better. A few minor issues here and there but nothing bad for the most part. They did a great job with facial recognition for the cast they used. Cut scenes look beautiful too.

Game Play:
Time powers are a ton of fun to use but everything else needs a lot of work. The platforming in this game is kind of sloppy and could have been a lot better, More polished. Same applies for the combat. Time controls are fine but the gun play is boring and lack of a cover system can be a bit annoying as well. By far the weakest part of the game.

Other:
The story is actually quite interesting if you sit through it. Sadly, A majority of your time playing this game will be watching cut scenes. The live action episodes added at the end of each act add depth to the story and while weird at first, It kind of grows on you. The campaign isn't that long and there's little to no replay value unless you want to grind out achievements. Even on the hardest difficulty, The game is a cake walk. Really over priced at 60 dollars, I wouldn't recommend buying unless you can get it for 20-30.

Overall: 7/10
I loved a majority of Quantum Break. The story is great, As is the cast and the time control mechanics. There are flaws though. The game play isn't as sharp as it could have been and there's no content to it outside of the short campaign. Should they make a sequel, and I expect them to do so because it's the best selling original franchise Xbox One game to date, then I'd want a lot more bang for my buck and improved game play.
