Purchased RAGE on Steam recently, July 2015. It would be a great game to play if the control scheme for the vehicles had more thought put into it by the developers. You can only control a vehicle by assigning keyboard keys to the basic steering functions. It is very awkward trying to control a vehicle's steering by pushing keys. It is very natural to use the mouse to steer a vehicle left and right, like in Borderlands, for example. One can use the mouse to turn left or right while walking or sprinting; why can't one use the mouse to do the same for a vehicle, I wonder. Using the mouse to steer would make the game a lot more fun and enjoyable for me.
In contrast, another thing that bugs me about the control scheme is that there is no way to turn left and right via assigned keyboard keys while standing or walking/sprinting; one can only do that by using the mouse.
Otherwise, the game definitely has a DOOM feel to it, but with much better graphics and realism.
