If PS4 was all about boring accessible cinematic games, PS5 is just about waste of money.
At least Demon Souls had some progression, Returnal is just trash.
Most people playing this game wont get past the first boss or two and completely stop playing it.
The game presents its boring content to you from the start every time you play the game.
So you get to run through the same boring poorly lit environments, kill the same boring enemies, using the same boring guns
The level generation isn't even that great, they just stitch together many of the pre-made rooms via huge gates
Good rogue games like Streets of Rogue allow you to start from a further progression, without leveling up. That game is what makes a rogue game fun.
Returnal does this in a way that is not fun at all. Maybe for people for whom going day to day to the same boring job is an idea of fun. But for me playing Returnal is like being taught calculus in every college class, even when its on the prerequisite list.
