I never thought this would be so much fun

When I first saw Rocket League on Steam, it was curious what was all the hype. I seemed like a rather simple idea. The graphics are great so I installed to try it out.

It's a great game. The idea is simple, but it's executed really well. I'm playing it on Mac Mini with Intel 4000 integrated graphics, so at first it was slow. It still felt good, but after seeing people playing it on Twitch, I changed the graphics settings to "performance". And then it blew my mind.

The game is pure fun. Controlling the ball with a car is hard enough to produce errors that make the game unpredictable and create comic situations. On the other hand, it plays so fast and controls are tight, so you can always chase down and try to fix your errors.

The only drawback is poor AI. On the lowest setting, you can score unlimited goals on the starting chase. On next level of difficulty, it can prove to be too hard, especially when you play with two kids on my team like I do. To fix this, the simplest thing would be to make sure that AI makes that first run always, even on lowest difficulty. And then it could just push the ball aside and kick off the match that way.
