This wrestling game includes plenty of fan service but it doesn't have enough to make it last.

What do most people watch wrestling for? Either to see some cool moves, wrestlers brutalizing each other, two man fighting for a title or to see some hot divas posing? Everyone has different tastes, but those who are looking for a great wrestling game shouldn't bother with Rumble Roses. This game features a full divas roster, extremely sharp models which are pretty welcoming. But poor sound, and lack of modes makes this game short lived.

The biggest most important thing that a sports game must have, Rumble Roses lacks it; the amount of game modes. You have 10 divas, each with their own alter egos which are unlockable. The divas vary personality from one another which makes them interesting. There are two basic events which include a normal exhibition mode and an awful mad mud match which is basically fighting in dirty water. There are also title matches but these are to be unlocked. If you played WWE SVR you will see the difference. The most laughable mode is definitely the story mode. It will take less than an hour with no saves as you play the story of one of the divas. The stories are tackled so badly that you will either probably skip the passable cutscenes with atrociously bad voice acting or don't play the mode. Also the stories don't make much sense either; it's as if some group of Japanese diva fans decided to make these stories to amuse themselves. The total lack of any decent mode is the biggest mistake of this game. The story is unreal with some really bizarre characters and ideas. Big WWE fans SHOULDN'T even look at the story.

The wrestling engine is actually quite decent. It's also quite similar to that of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw. Each fighter has their own style and finisher. But each of them can grapple, run and punch/kick. The action quickly becomes repetitive and sometimes frustrating because of the lack of variety and reversals. There is a "vow" system in the game which you can use to make the match more challenging for you and you might get a chance at the title (if you made the vow count). Most people shouldn't be bothered with this. The finishers are repetitive as well. Basically you deal enough damage to make your opponent submit or pin them. Finishers deal some good damage but repeat themselves far too often. The fighting system works well; it just doesn't work its strengths. Diva fans should get ready for some panty shots, and more. It's divas we are talking about here.

Since we are talking about divas, are they good looking? Yes, the models are the best thing about this game, on par with that of Smackdown vs. Raw. Most divas wear as little as possible for some fan service. The environments are a little repetitive, but the mud looks horrific. It doesn't even look like mud; more like dirty water. The cutscenes are passable at best, but you will be skipping them. The worst part is the sound though. Aside from being no commentary, the voice acting is horrible and pathetic even for divas. There is the soundtrack to keep you entertained when fighting but that's no good either. The crowd looks decent though, probably slightly better than those in other wrestling games.

Should you play Rumble Roses? That depends on what you like about wrestling. If you like big and huge wrestler or high-flying underdogs you shouldn't bother with this one. Nonetheless if you have played every wrestling game on the market and still can't get enough you might as well rent it. But this wrestling game is solely aimed for those diva fans that can't get enough of them. Great models and a good fighting engine are certainly not enough to overshadow the abysmal mode selection and bad sound. Anyone outside must not apply.

Graphics = 7.9
The models are expertly designed and are the show of the game. Some repetitive environments though, and horribly designed mad mud match.

Sound = 4.0
No commentary whatsoever, horrible voice acting. The soundtrack is merely passable but you'll probably come to dislike it.

Presentation = 6.5
The cutscenes are passable at best. Some of the loading times are somewhat long.

Gameplay = 7.2
The fighting engine is similar to that of WWE SVR. There are 10 to 20 wrestlers (all divas). Overall simplistic and repetitive. No reversal can make things frustrating.

Modes = 3.5
Absolutely bad and lame stories will bore any hardcore wrestling fan. Pathetic selection of modes which include only a normal exhibition match and a bad mad mud match. There is a title match, not worth your time. You might like the gallery, but still not worth.
