Silent Hill 3 is a pointless game. It could make a great movie, but the gameplay is just tedious zombie bashing between excellent cinematic scenes. Oh, right, there are also a few akwardly placed puzzles which have little or nothing to do with what's going on. SH3 shows the need for innovation in these kind of games. I want a real game, not half a movie with mediocre interactive moments thrown in for no reason. Although the mood and visuals are outstanding, I was very happy with watching my friend play through it once. The story of SH3 isn't nearly as interesting as SH2's - it's simply too straight forward and lacks any depth or room for interpretation. SH3 shows the evils of franchises, which can live on a name and pretty graphics, but little else.
