SKATE shows the true meaning of what is to skate, leaving the Tony Hawk Series in shame.
SKATE is not only the most realistic skateboarding game you'll ever come across, but the most fun at that. Instead of adding stupid features like 'Nail-the-trick' that was seen in Tony's Project 8, SKATE keeps close to realism and pays close attention to gravity and physics making each trick look so smooth. The only thing on SKATE that can be annoying at times is the whole trick system. Although it works so well with the fact that you flick your right analog stick to do fliptricks, use the left analog stick for your body movement and your Left and Right triggers for your Left and Right hands, you'll sometimes find yourself getting stressed over landing certain tricks like the annoying 360 flip where you have to swirl your right analog around and go straight up and... and... well, it's just plain annoying at times. However, so is trying to land a trick in real life. Practice as much as you can on the game, and you'll find yourself on the cover of magazines in no time.
SKATE has lots to offer in skateboarding that the Tony Hawk series couldn't and never will.
