Super Mario Galaxy 2 gets its review from me, dribbleondo!

User Rating: 9.5 | Super Mario Galaxy 2 WII
Over the years, Nintendo has brought us 25 years of amazing games, from the retro Super Mario Bros to Super Mario 3DS (which should be out anytime soon now!). Mario is more recognizable than Mickey mouse, and that's quite an achievement. its one of the best (and the first) games for the Wii that's out there. The original was awesome, it had a mix of some of the old power ups and some of the old enemy's. Doing that once is Just about enough to make ANY dedicated Mario fan squeal with joy. So how excited was i when Back in 2010, they released Super Mario Galaxy 2, the sequel to its predecessor.

Like the original, it had some of the old power-ups form previous Mario games, like the Fire Flower and the Spring power-up from the original Super Mario Galaxy, But after that, everything else is new. They added a power up, suitably named it the cloud flower, allowing anyone with it to have 3 fluffy clouds to use as either paths, bridges or a tower to walk upon. Strangely, they got rid of the ice flower, even though the game has a few ice based levels. Which brings me onto my next section: The levels

The sole aim of this game was to make the game better than the original, and it suceeded.... no wait, it more than suceeded, it won me (and all of the other gamespotters) over with the amount of levels it has packed into it. the game's levels are innovative, very original and, at some points, very ambitious. The level map in the original was based around the lookalike of a map of the solar system. The level selection map in Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks like the one used in the Super Mario Bros series, showing you the levels name and stars before you enter it, and its also split up into 6 "worlds" as it were, compared to Super Mario Galaxy's rooms which you unlock.

On each galaxy, there's a comet medal to look out for, without them, you can't progress through the game. The prankster comets are back as well, which, of course, make the return of daredevil runs, purple coin collecting and speed running some of the levels in order to get those fiendishly difficult stars. But wait there's more. after 120 stars, there's more to collect. You've gotta get 120 green stars, which are stars that are really difficult to grab. they're hidden on all the levels. and don't get me started on the grand-master galaxy. though it doesn't have green stars, its very hard....especially if its called the perfect run.

Another thing Super Mario Galaxy was famous for its amazing range of music it had that accompanied you with the levels. the sequel is no different. The final boss music is epic! another thing is that they made completely different pieces of music for their orchestra to play. though gusty garden gets a brief hearing in the final level.

In the end, i love it. its ambitious, enjoyable to play, heck it took me 53 hours to complete it all the way through!
