Never having played any other Tactics Ogre, I say this is a must get for people who enjoy RPG/ turn based strategy games

I have played Final Fantasy Tactics and Front Mission series in terms of role playing games mixed with turn based strategy game play. In terms of story, it is similar to final fantasy tactics with the main theme of "a war torn country with a mysterious conspirator in the background". The game mechanics are the same where the player moves the units individually, either attacking, using magic, or strategically placing units for future attacks, and end the turn and wait for the A.I. to do the same. There is recruitment to add party members and the ability to change classes; from changing the warrior class to the knight class, and etc. However, Tactics Ogre takes the similarities onto a different path. In terms of recruitment, you can choose who you want to recruit into your party and there are party members who will leave depending on your decisions you make as a player when the story choices become available. This can be both a blessing and a curse depending on how you play. But the choices you make in game can also effect the ending as well. Replayability becomes a plus when you want a game that can keep you going for days if not weeks.
Tactics Ogre has added a great touch with party management, that in my opinion, is a plus over the other RPG/Strategy games that I have played is how experience and skill points are distributed. As an example, you have two warriors sitting in your party, but you only use one for the upcoming battle as long as the particular warrior does some action that helps you win said battle. During the reward screen all of your warriors not just the one who participated will earn exp no matter what. This helps minimizing micro management in terms of keeping everyone in your party up to level. This works even for your hero units as long as they are the same class that participated in a battle.
Overall a great game that would I recommend for anyone who is either looking for an awesome rendition of a classic, same genre different flavor, or overall a different experience with RPGs.
