Though the world is bland compared to its predecessor, Oblivion lives up to the storytelling

User Rating: 8 | The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition PC

Pros

  • Fantastic story *
  • Very pretty scenery for the most part, although lacking in variety
  • Disabling bloom and hdr makes it look way better
  • Very fun quests
  • The world acknowledges your achievements
  • Harder to get incredibly rich
  • Reflections in eyes
  • Fire/lighting in darkness

Cons

  • Beard shades whole body
    • (can’t have a beard in a fantasy game!?!)
  • Faces
  • Voice actors change (beggars)
  • All towns feel the same, even when they aren’t supposed to
    • (people too for the most part)
  • Annoying interrupting NPCs
  • Too much criss-crossing the map *
    • Detracts from immersion
