To buy or not to buy

User Rating: 7 | The Sims 2 University PC
This is the first expansion to the sims and it isn't that great. The college is a total letdown and is boring as hell. It is repetitious and last for to long. Do not buy this expansion pack for the college aspect becasue you will most likely be disappointed.

In college you play a young adult a new life stage and live in a dorm or house (your choice). You go to class on certain days like school but it is much shorter. During your free time you can either fool around or do various things such as study or write term papers to improve your academic bar. If that is not high enough you won't pass college and next year if you fail again your kicked out.

If you do decide to play it for college live in a dorm because it is more interesting. You get room mates who are really stupid but sometimes can be enjoyable. Like your sim they can improve there skills so if you buy a piano for the dorm then they won't suck every time they play it. Also mascots may visit and either cheer you on or pull pranks, a new feature in this game.

The real reason you should get this game is for the items and the other content. There are some great items such as the pool tabel, bubble blower, and new instruments you can play on including drums, bass guitar, and guitar. You can also perform (choice between 3 songs) for money and other people can join in the fun. They also have new interactions including 3 pranks, kicky sack, and pillow fight. New jobs are also included but you can only choose these jobs if you finish to college.

Finally there is a influence meter that allows you to influence other people to do stuff through points you get from fulfilling aspirations . problem is that most expansion packs if not all after that include this bar so you don't need university for it.

If you want some good items and your not worried about space or load times then this is a good purchase and the college life can be fun at times but overall there isn't enough worth it for increased load times.
