Great game with LOTS of customization options. A few tweaks and it would have been amazing!
Expecting the worst I started the game and was shocked at how good everything looked and how in depth the character customization options were. I love being able to customize my characters in games and this was a major plus point for me especially after playing GTA IV and having a pathetic amount of customization available.
The amount of Loot you can pick up is great and I would imagine Loot runs with a friend on Xbox Live to be really fun, although I haven't tried this myself.
The obvious major down points to the game are the death scenes when your character dies and the Valkyrie comes down and takes you away. This scene takes far too long and can't be skipped, not bad if you don't die a lot, but could easily become a real pain if you died often.
The other down point is the length of the levels, they are waaaay too long with the 2nd level Iron Forest being the longest and taking a good few hours to complete. There are checkpoints so you don't have to replay from the start if you don't finish the level though.
There is definite replayability with different classes to try out and lots of Loot and armour sets to collect.
A big downside regarding the Loot is that there is no "Bank" so to speak. Somewhere you could place the Loot you have collected and are not using and give it to your other characters, instead you have to play through the game with the others and hope and pray that the Loot drops again!
Overall, in my opinion, this is a game that hits almost all the right spots and hopefully if they make a sequel, the team at Silicon Knights will recognise which aspects need improving and make a game that will impress gamers and reviewers much more.
If you have wanted to play it but haven't because of reviews and you see it for super cheap like I did, I would say BUY IT!
