It's sort of a spiritual successor to F.E.A.R. Sort of.

User Rating: 7 | Trepang2 (Early Access) PC

Fast paced FPS about a mutant soldier who carries out missions for a shady syndicate. The plot is generic and good enough to carry the action, but won't win any awards. You play this game for the tense atmosphere (with very clear nods to F.E.A.R.) and tight shooting mechanics. Add to that a Crysis style stealth ability and a sort of semi-Max Payne "Bullet Time" and you have a pretty solid game that is well worth checking out.

I played through the game on Normal Difficulty, which was by and large fine for the regular combat, but some of the boss battles I found to be frustrating. Especially the final boss is very difficult for inexperienced FPSers (like myself) with constant spamming of invisibility combined with dashes and finishing with almost undodgable melee strike.

Graphics are fine and you can max all settings on a moderate rig (AMD 3700X and RTX 2060). Loading times are near instant on SSD - something that games with >10x the budget of Trepang2 somehow can't manage.

All controls are rebindable to any key, so very friendly to left-handed gamers. 8-10 hours of solid entertainment. Worth the price.
