American Horror Story: True Crimes That Inspired Murder House

Greg breaks down the true stories that inspired major plot points in AHS, starting with Murder House. AHS Season 1 references Richard Speck's killing spree and the Black Dahlia case.

After nine seasons, American Horror Story is still going strong with captivating storylines, unforgettable characters, and a bunch of nightmares in between. As many of you already know, some of those nightmares are based on reality. Many of the major plot points and characters are inspired by true stories.

From the Black Dahlia in Murder House, all the way to the night stalker in AHS: 1984, we’ll examine each season. In the video above, Greg starts with AHS Season 1's true crime inspirations: Richard Speck and Elizabeth Short, aka the Black Dahlia.
