In Star Trek: Discovery Season 3, Episode 4, we learn how the trip into the future has taken a toll on crew of the USS Discovery. They are feeling lost and disconnected. Culber brings this to Captain Saru's (Doug Jones) attention, and Saru tries to help the crew by giving them the night off and hosting a private dinner for the bridge crew.
Meanwhile, Adira is having trouble accessing Admiral Tal's memories. Culber suggests taking Adira to planet Trill to get help unlocking the memories from the symbiont. Burnham goes with Adira to Trill, but the Trill leaders are shocked and displeased to find out the Tal symbiont has a human host.
