Warhammer 40,000 Darktide - How Is It Different From Vermintide & Left 4 Dead? | Summer Game Fest 2022

We got some hands on with Warhammer 40,000 Darktide, the upcoming Grimdark 4-player co-op action game set in the 40k universe. Phil and Lucy explore what makes Darktide different from games like Vermintide and Back 4 Blood, how non-Warhammer fans might get into the game, how the classes, powers and personalities of the game works, and how big an Ogryn's knife is. Darktide releases on the 13th of September for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Fatshark has already explored some of the Warhammer franchise with their Vermintide series, but now they're entering the Warhammer 40,000 universe with Darktide. Breaking away from specific characters, now players will pick a combination of classes and personalities and be able to level those up and progress them individually be it a seasoned veteran of the Imperial army, a snarky outsider, or a fiery zealot. Lucy and Phil sit down to discuss what makes Darktide different to other 4 player co-op action games, and how playstyles and personalities effect gameplay in this Grimdark setting.
