There are some things I agree with in this review and other that I don't. Maybe it is because I played it 5 years after release, but by the end of the game, it became very tiresome.
I liked the controls and had a huge feeling of empowerment. What was surprising is how the game can suddenly switch. From hack and slash, to shooting, to on rail shooter, to the great segments with the jetpack! The environments can some time be astonishing, even while always mechanical themed.
Where I totally disagree with the reviewer is about the story and characters. The whole story was poorly executed, with really bland characters, emotionless dialogs and predictable story. Traitors can be seen from miles away and characters are uninteresting at best.
An one of my worst offender... The final boss is a quick time event.
Just let that sink in for a moment.
Even if I had a blast at the beginning, and the game contained many epic moments and cinematics, I still somehow got fed up by the end.
