User Rating: 8 | Wasteland 3 PC

If you played and enjoyed 2014's Wasteland 2, you probably already played this and loved this sequel. It's more of that old-skool cRPG gameplay, recently repopularised by the likes of Divinity: Original Sin 1/2 and Pillars of Eternity.

The turn-based combat is as solid as always from veteran game developer inXile (formerly Interplay). Up to six members in your party all with countless combinations of attributes, skills and perks, ensures a diverse team that you will try and level up to tackle any situation and keep combat exciting.

The campaign is fully voice acted (basically a welcome standard bar established by Larian with D:OS 2) and tells a comprehensive story with numerous optional side-quests (expect 50-60ish hours) that mostly remains both challenging and compelling, there is very little not to like here.

A worthy successor to the original two Fallout games and a solid sequel to Wasteland 2 (you don't need to have played that one to play this - the story here is independent of its predecessor).

So why 8/10? Traversing the world map in a vehicle seemed superfluous and mostly a time waster. The ending(s) weren't particularly heroic or satisfying imo. None of the NPC side missions (and there weren't enough of them) really connected you to the characters - games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age did this sort of content a lot better imo.
