Windbound pairs unnecessarily tedious "survival" elements with wonky-but-fun sailing and boat-building, then wraps it all in a very pretty Hyrule-ish cel-shaded skin. The combat is awful--especially when combined with the draconian hunger/stamina mechanic that makes actual roguelikes seem like a breeze. Even when you manage to exploit your way to victory and beyond to craft a better skiff, the repetition and constant nagging of Kara's stomach eclipse any sense of wonder or mystery to be found in these waters.
