@davillain: Joe really fell off my radar. I have to admit I only hate watched the dude back when I did, but he got real stale after a while. His scripts were just a computation of Twitter and YouTube comments. The dude didn’t have a single original thought. But I’d probably watch a video of his fat ass in a Texas Longhorns jersey bitching about microtransactions because he knows nothing about football or video game production. It’d be like old times
Is it really a big thing in the US? Didnt know a game exists for college football
There’s a handful of states in the U.S. where college football is THE sport. The players getting paid is souring things in the southern states (now that they can’t secretly bribe/pay the best players to go to schools they otherwise wouldn’t know existed) and the game went away for a decade because the players wanted to be compensated for their image and likeness. The corrupt ass NCAA chose to not license the video game to avoid paying a penny to players. Now they’ve agreed to pay the players “at least“ $600 and a free copy of the game 😂😂. They generate over $1.3 Billion in revenue a year without the video game…

Jesus. After some googling, they were all US exclusives.
@lhughey: Realism. Realistic physics and animations.
All sports games just janky to me.
Play 2k basketball
As a sports gamer during the NES- PS2 era, I feel like sports games still haven't taken that next step yet. Part of the reason I think is the lack of competition. EA should bring back NBA Live while Take 2 should somehow bring NFL 2K back.

EA brought back Live. It was a disaster and it went away again. Everybody thinks they can do better than what’s out there until they try…

Well how long ago was that though?
Edit: NBA Live 19 was the last one
EA and 2K announcing a new Basketball/Football game could get the developers of Madden and NBA 2K to try harder.
@PSP107: EA and the NFL have an exclusive deal until 2026. The EA contract with the NCAA expires in 2027. The NBA signed a 7 year deal with Take Two in 2019. Meaning neither studio will have to try as long as they keep writing those billion dollar checks.
I don't know how one gets excited for a sports game.
Being a sports fan helps
Considering how every sports game is just a microtransaction store sold to you for $70, i don't really see your point. Every developer in charge of making sports games do it to abuse its fans, not to release the best possible product for folks to enjoy.

Sports fans are no strangers to spending money. They spend $200 on tickets to go to a game in their $120 jersey. Spend $30 on parking and buy $12 beers and $10 hotdogs. You think an annual $70 purchase and a few $5 loot boxes is gonna scare them off? Not everybody is allergic to spending money like gamers are

What the hell kind of an excuse is this? Spending money on tickets=/=getting titties milked in a lazy rehashed game YEARLY for over a decade. Your "games" are nothing but microtransation stores you spend $70 on yearly just to have an opportunity TO SPEND MORE MONEY IN MTX. Its the most ridiculous thing behind gacha games. The filthiest shit in the gaming industry.
@hardwenzen: "Your "games" are nothing but microtransation stores"
Wait, microtransactions is not limited to sports games is it?
I mean aren't people spending money on cosmetics, DLC, season pass etc in other games.
Yes, a game like Warzone, Apex, Fortnite, Desitny 2, etc are nothing else but microtransaction stores sold to you as a video game, but in reality, the video game portion is nothing but marketing for their mtx store. Its pathetic the state most multiplayer games are in. The difference between these games and sports titles is that they aren't rehashing them yearly, and charge you an additional $70 every time.
@hardwenzen:
Where is the evolution in shooters/open world games?
And evolution in an open world game isn't needed. What it needs is to have as much non repetitive varied content as possible. As for shooters, what shooters? Barely anything non cheap ass indie comes out because all the big publishers are milking their GaaS shooter and focus on nothing but it.
