The censoring outfits is silly for what Sony has done and its not the reason why I purchased the game anyway, so the customs don't affect me. The only thing I didn't like is toning down the gore, and the funny thing is, Sony did the same to Ninja Gaiden which is ironic😅

Anyway, if you aren't satisfied with Stellar Blade, Sony is offering refunds.

I always figured something was off about the way Sony was promoting the game, as Sony is a company known for censorship. So I'm not at all surprised they eventually censored some content in the end.

Not that I care either way. The "woke" and "anti-woke" folks can both go cry in a corner. All that matters is whether it's a good game. Eve's appearance is just window-dressing.

I think the real issue is them changing things after the game came out. Feels kind of like a bait and switch.

Oh snap, 9.1 user score! I put in about 8 hours this weekend and I’m enjoying the combat!

I completed the demo and found it to be pretty fun. Skill tree seems interesting, combat mechanics were smooth, and the graphics and music were nice. However after hearing about the last minute censorship I don’t know if I’ll commit to supporting Sony and this company, not that it’s a deal breaker for me but as a matter of principle it seems like a greasy move on their part to do that after people have already pre ordered or paid for the original product they advertised. I’m disappointed to see they caved in to social justice warriors.

I do agree with this. Even if it's funny that anti-woke gamers have egg on their face, I do question the decision. When it first became a controversial issue, they doubled down. Of course, it is in their right to do so because it is their game. Though my thing is, after they had the controversy and doubled down and even tripled down, why did they censor right as they released. You had already built up your audience via the marketing machine, so it feels weird to just flip flop. Once again, they doubled and tripled down during the controversy, so I don't know...

The decision for them to do so is weird, considering that they seemed to lean into the controversy. Though it does make sense when you see the bigger picture. Someone on Twitter pointed out that Japan censors porn, so they don't understand why the anti-woke peeps consider them an edgy savior against censorship. And then in gaming. Sony is a Japanese company that censors certain games. Nintendo back in the day used to censor their games. Nintendo only stopped censoring games because they desperately want to escape their image of being kiddie.

I don't think so. All I see is the after image, which is lace covering her top area. So instead of a really deep cut shirt with nothing, there's now lace.

Nope! Shift Up knew exactly what they were doing. They did not sign the agreement blind. Sony can set the terms of their agreements anyway they deem fit, and developers have the right to choose. No-one is forced. It is solely Shift Up's call.

If it's not censorship then why has Sony agreed to refund copies due to "false advertising". From when Shift Up said the game was uncensored. Come on Pedro, you know how it works, they already took the bag from Sony. The game has now already launched. They got contracts with Sony for the exclusivity deal. They gotta do what Sony says or the pony lawyers going to take to the contracts.

Like I said, hope Shift Up learns a valuable lesson from this. And maybe for thier next game, they don't take the bag. But let's not pretend Shift Up put shit in the game.. and on thier own regard with no influence from sony.. decided to get rid of it.. nah Sony did that shit. Feel free to demonstrate the censorship but offering refunds is not proof of censorship. That is like saying Cyberpunk 2077 was censored because Sony offered refunds. False advertising is not censorship.

As stated before, the agreement with Sony is not forced and they didn't agree to the constraints without knowledge of the terms. Do you have evidence that Sony impose these constraints or is this an assumption?

The game is not multiplatform because Shift Up agreed with Sony's terms. It is not complicated and it solely the decision of the studio. If they didn't like the terms they have the option to reject it, but they didn't.
