No doubt this will enrage a lot of the easily triggered folks on here or the anti-PC brigade, but this is a minor thing. Obviously it'd be nice if this was something we could do, but at the same time when you die I would like to think there are bigger things to deal with, like things that have actual value.

With that said, I don't know if Valve can actually enforce this as something tells me they aren't checking obituaries so they can cancel your account the second you bite the dust. If you just put your account name and password into the will, I'm pretty sure you can more or less pass on your game collection.

People move and change addresses, get new credit cards, and even can legally change their name...there is no way (AFAIK) for Valve to actually enforce this.

In the end, if it's that important to the deceased, they will have accounted for this and given you the account name and password. My dad has done this with all his various accounts for more important things, for example, as he is 80+ years old and getting things prepared.

God I love this. They really took those lemons and made lemonade.

I actually sort of liked the Mad Max video game. Captured the spirit of the films quite well and had a decent story to it. Gameplay was good, too.

A shame that was sort of when the developer went downhill; Just Cause 4 was a bit of a shitshow, Rage 2 was underwhelming (but not terrible, mind you), and while Generation Zero was released in a poor state it sort of turned into an OK game that isn't that popular.

I mean this all makes a lot of sense. IIRC, video games now make more money than film, TV, and streaming combined.

With that said, it's hard for me to not take a cynical view of this and think "tell me you've reached late-stage capitalism without telling me you've reached late-stage capitalism". Seeing a ride that looks cool then "brought to you by Chevrolet" on the bottom is just...ick. I don't want to be reminded of the outside world when I go to Disneyland.

In either case, it's good to see video games gain more representation in the main-stream ; as an older millennial, a lot of people in my personal life still tend to view video games as childish, time-wasters, etc. and the more we see them the more legitimate they seem.

I also think this is good news from a demographic perspective; for too long the world--politics, corporations, etc--have been run by Cold War-era fossils and if corporations are starting to use video games in a more wide-spread manner, it means that people that grew up playing video games might be running things or at least having a larger say. I look forward to this transition from the old guard to the new.

@Dawg9000: oh ya it was a generic superhero/antihero ripoff in terms of story, abilities, etc. but I love it haha.

The sequel was a bit lame, but it's still a franchise I'd like to see some more games of. Unfortunately it's owned by Activision (iirc) so it's probably been mothballed for eternity.

I liked the traversal/locomotion in the game Prototype as well. There was something really great about running up the side of a building, jumping off of it, turning your fists into two giant boulders, and body-slamming a tank.

CoD jumped the shark a long time ago in my opinion, this weird marketing schtick and gimmick and whatever is just more of that nonsense.

Series has no soul left, just addicts that keep pulling the lever on the slot machine.

@brenohs: Once in a while Gamespot does some actual journalism, and it's really, really, really nice to see.

AI is a tool, not a replacement for anything. Seems like a pretty obvious lesson at this point, but for some reason the folks in charge don't seem to want to use it as it should be used, and we keep running across constant examples of why.

Yet another sign of the end-game, of late-stage capitalism. Time to slowly but surely adopt more socialist policies, more anti-corporate and pro-worker/consumer laws.

Sincerely
