The Verge and Bloomberg already said this a few days ago.

From 4:00 and onwards

Brad: Microsoft, I believe, is making... Look, their fiscal year ends in, like, 60 days, something like that? New fiscal year, there's always shuffling of the deck when the new year starts.

Paul: This is a lot of shuffling before then, though.

Brad: Yes, that is the slightly concerning part, that there will be continued shuffling in, roughly, the July timeframe.

I wonder if we are moving to MS being a software company rather than a hardware one. They did that successfully in the OS market, will it spread to the gaming side. They won't pull out of gaming - they make too much money but how much is the Xbox console worth to them?

Its a shit time to be working in the gaming business no matter who you work for.

Saying that its a shit time to be running most businesses at the moment.

Around the same month as Xbox 360 store will be closed for good, so restructuration at the same time makes sense.

Companies repositioning themselves is the great anti-joy of gaming in 2024. I don't really care what happens to Xbox hardware... I haven't purchased since the 360... If Microsoft sees more cake in software then by all means make software and leave hardware for others to make. They'll be scourge of the industry if they shutter too many studios though. Sony too.... Not a good look to shut promising studios down.

I mean giving how much money they have poured into xbox it males sense to take a step back and restructure.

Well I mean given how much they’ve recently acquired of course there’s going to be some restructuring. This shouldn’t be a surprise to be honest.
