Lets cut right through the hog wash here. We all know the days of exclusives are GONE!!!!!! Even Sony is putting everything on PC and currently mostly doing just AA and low budget remakes.

Nintendo is another beast and will likely be able to continue to cater to kids and families with their kiddy exclusives and family games but even Nintendo is going to have to open things up more for multiplat going forward.

With MS currently owning Bethesda and Activision Blizzard and Game Pass MS is poised to dominate the market going forward. Also MS $ and Game Pass can bring in big 3rd party day one releases also, AKA Stalker 2 for example.

This will also allow MS to give Xboxers day one greatness on Game Pass and also give this big multiplats extra bonuses and such on Xbox Platforms as well.

When PlayStation 5 was launched in 2020, the system box had an 8K logo that promised support for future titles with 8K graphics. But at some point in the last few months, Sony has quietly removed any mention of 8K on the PlayStation 5 boxes, and fans have finally noticed the change.

Via PlayStation Lifestyle, a Reddit thread went viral with the news. Some fans on social media have even called it false advertising.

A FAQ on Sony's official site in 2020 stated that "PS5 is compatible with 8K displays at launch, and after a future system software update will be able to output resolutions up to 8K when content is available, with supported software." But to date, the only game that offers 8K resolution on PS5 is The Touryst, which looks more like Minecraft than a game with advanced visuals.

The reality is that 8K has not been widely adopted by video game developers, or even by filmmakers at this point. There are 8K televisions on the market, but it may be quite some time, if ever, before it becomes the standard for either gaming or entertainment.

Sony wasn't the only company to claim 8K support with the current generation of consoles. Microsoft also boasted about Xbox Series X's 8K capabilities in 2020. But the same reasons behind PS5's lack of 8K titles is also why they're absent from Xbox Series X.
