Diablo IV's Season of Blood is in full swing, but players can still expect some new additions in the coming weeks, including a holiday event and a throwback to Season 1.

Announced as part of BlizzCon's opening ceremony, Diablo IV Season 2 will receive a holiday event on December 12, which will transform the Fractured Peaks zone into a "winter terrorland." On December 5, Diablo IV will introduce a new, limited-time endgame event, the Abbatoir of Zir. Details on the new endgame event are scarce, but it's intended for level 100 characters who have already conquered the game's hardest challenges.

Additionally, an update coming next week will introduce five class-specific rings (one for each class) that grant powers based on some of Season 1's Malignant Powers. Next week's update will also bring changes to the Occultist, giving players a better view of what affixes are possible for enchanted items.

Blizzard didn't give many details on what Diablo IV Season 3 will look like, but it did tease the game's first expansion, slated to arrive in late 2024. Titled Vessel of Hatred, the expansion will continue the story of Diablo IV, with players traveling to a jungle region previously seen in Diablo II to track down the Lord of Hatred, Mephisto. The expansion will also introduce a new class "never-before-seen" in Diablo, though Blizzard didn't share additional details.

Diablo IV Season 2 kicked off on October 17, and in addition to introducing a new vampire-themed storyline and Vampiric Powers, it completely rebalanced numerous aspects of Blizzard's ARPG. It additionally brought major quality-of-life improvements to things like inventory and stash management, something Blizzard went out of its way to point out during its BlizzCon announcements.

The game's latest update, patch 1.2.1, made it easier to respec Paragon Boards while also introducing a new Target Dummy feature so players can experiment with their builds in the safety of town.
