Last week a few hundred users received the 2008 Readers choice emblem. We researched those who received the emblem and many of these users were not active in the forums or other areas of the community. We were aware of the voting problems you encountered and plan to give everyone three days to report in this thread.

Here is how you'll report that you did not receive the emblem.Post in this thread with the subcategories you selected. All of them is NOT an answer. Throw a few subcategories out there to amuse us.

Lastly, if the admins think you sound suspiciously like you just want a freebie emblem, you'll be contacted with numerous questions so be honest!

Submit your answer between now and Friday, March 13, 2009 at 12pm PT. After this coming Friday the emblem vault will be closed for this ghetto emblem.

Reminder: Stating you voted for all of them is not claiming the emblem and will not be considered when we grant the emblems on Friday.

But I did vote for all of them! =P I definitely voted for Game of the Year and the various Platform Awards. Oh, and best RPG of the year, have to vote there, you know!

Well I did vote in all the categories, but here are a handful (well as close as I can remember name wise):

I am pretty sure I voted for everything except for the best news story. Then I came back and voted for that later. I voted for Game of the Year, Best Action Adventure, and Best PS3 probably about four times each because I was making sure my votes for Metal Gear Solid 4 were counted.

I know I voted for the snowboard game for worst advertising. I voted for the air traffic control game for most surprisingly good game. Best new character I voted for the guy from Lost Odyssey, Jansen I think. I voted for Valkyria Chronicles for best artistic graphics. Best 360 game was Left 4 Dead. I voted for Street Fighter 2 HD for the best fighting. The M&M game for the worst game. If Metal Gear Solid 4 for best story.

I voted on all of them of course. Here's a few I vaguely remember:

Game of the Year: MGS4 (with most other nominations it got like best graphics technical)
Best graphics, artistic: Valkyria Chronicles
Best DLC: Burnout Paradise
Best download game: Braid
Most despicable use of in-game ads: Shaun White Snowboarding
Worst game: M&M Kart Racing

For some stuff I voted multiple times, because, like you said, there was a problem with voting and instead of showing the percentage of each game, the buttons reverted back to "vote" after a while.

I started doing it with my old profile (by the way, is there a way to fuse my two profiles together? Or at least remove my old one from the database? Just wondering...)

I remember that when i started voting the categories weren't all available so i waited for the next day or so to keep voting, but when i returned to continue with the votes, the ones i already did vote for where reseted so i had to do them again, but they keep resenting so i kept voting, eventually i got tired of voting for the same things again and gave up.

I mean, I know you don't want us to say 'all of them', but seriously, I'd imagine most of us did just that. The categories that caused most of my voting problems (even though I must have voted for everything at least half a dozen times), were the most recent categories to be posted. Everything in special achievement and dubious honours should have gone through okay, with most problematic ones being the platform and genre awards.

What I can remember off the top of my head is:

• Game of the year: I voted for Fallout 3 (curse you MGS4!!!)
• Biggest news: Is the video game industry really recession proof? No, not really.
• Best new Hardware: New Nvidia and ATI graphics card, DSi and... I forgot the last one. I think I voted for the ATI card.
• Best RPG: Fallout 3 of course.
• Best downloadable content: I must admit that I voted for the new tracks for Burnout Paradise. :)
• Best graphics technical: I think I voted for Crysis Warhead. There were also Burnout Paradise, Dead Space and Fallout 3.
• Most despicable use of in-game advertising: Guitar Hero and Rainbow Six: Vegas for example.
• Best story: I voted for Tales of Vesperia, although there was also The World Ends With You nominated.
• Flat out worst game is also always good: Dark Messiah of Might and Magic was one of them, also Mr. Driller online.
• Another category which was new this year (I think) was "The most brutal game that made it past censors in Australia" Gears of Wars 2 was one of them.
• Best game no one played: I voted for Viva Pinata: TiP.
• Best Wii game: No more Heroes of course!

Am I supposed to remember more? I certainly can if I try harder :oops:

There was the votes re-setting problem for me too, and I voted twice in every category then went back and voted where they had re-set yet again (they still re-set after all that, though). Here's a few categories:

I was too lazy to vote in all of the special achievement and dubious honors categories, but I did vote in all of the genre, platform (that I owned), and GOTY awards, and let me tell you, my tastes are as out of step with the community at large as you can get. :P
