I was just thinking about all the games that I've logged in over 100 hours of gameplay in and the results have left me rather scared. That's a lot of time invested in a hobby O_o

DS

-Pokemon Pearl

-Pokemon Black

-Dragon Quest IX

-Jump Ultimate Stars

Wii

-Donkey Kong Country Returns

-Super Mario Galaxy

-Super Mario Galaxy 2

-The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

-Punch-Out!!

-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

-Super Smash Bros. Brawl

PS3

-Batman Arkham City

-Super Street Fighter IV

That's a total of 13 games with over 100 hours of game time. My word! What about you guys?

Pokemon Diamond: Nearly 500 hours

Battlefield 3: Nearly 300 hours

I probably have a good amount put into LittleBigPlanet, Wii Sports (and Resort), and Wii Fit too. It doesn't really scare me, but sometimes it's hard to believe.

100 hours is nothing, the games that scare me are the ones I have put 1000 hours into.

Those are TF2, Morrowind, and World of Warcraft (about 120 days of total /played time before I quit).

I have played a few hundred ours of each individual Counter Strike, so if we can count those all as one game, then that's the one I have played the most.

Probably like 4. I don't mind it because that means I'm getting my money's worth and I'm not out wasting my money on other stuff.

In WoW you can type /played into chat and it'll tell you how long you have played with that character. Do that for all of your characters to figure out how long you have played.

MW2 Call of Duty: World at War GTAIV Bad Company 2 Fallout 3 Fallout: New Vegas Skyrim That looks about right for this generation thus far. Open world games and online shooters, the latter of which I don't play so much anymore. I'm probably close in other games, I know I spent some 80-90 hours in Persona 4: Golden not far back in only a few months time.

Possibly some others very near the 100 mark, but these are the ones I'm most confident to have surpassed 100:

  • Rockband 2
  • Rockband 3
  • GTA IV
  • Borderlands 2
  • Skyrim
  • Forza 2
  • Forza 3

Disgaea 1-4, many of the Fire Emblems, Tales of Vesperia, Persona 3 & 4, Nocturne and soon-to-be SMT IV, all the Animal Crossings, several Harvest Moons and Rune Factory games, Starhawk, GTA San Andreas, Dragon Age: Origins, Valkyria Chronicles, Fallout 3 & NV, Okami, XCOM, Advance Wars 1 - 4, some Dragon Quest games and plenty of others.

I'd rather spend 100's of hours playing games I love as opposed to playing an hour or two with ones I don't.

Dragon Age Origins, every Mass Effect game, SWTOR, MW2, among other games. It doesn't scare me, since I enjoy playing them so much that I don't see the time pass.

100 hours isn't really that scary. That's pretty normal actually.

Pokemon Pearl: 220 hours

Pokemon Soul Silver: 200 hours

Pokemon Black 2: 338 hours

Soul Calibur 5: 225 hours

Skyrim: 165 hours

Tales of Vesperia: 110 hours

Tales of Symphonia: 600 hours

Grandia: 150 hours

Phantasy Star Online: I estimate between 1000 and 1300 hours

Disgaea 4: 250 hours

Phantom Brave: 200 hours

And that's just some of the games I've played. I often log at least 100 hours onto my games. Not all of em, but a lot of em.

The only one that scares me a bit is my Pokemon White. I have 600 hours on that thing, and I don't know why. What the hell was I doing that ate up 600 hours on that game?! There isn't even that much to do on it...

Only one so far. I put 250 hours into Pokemon White. It is a little concerning. I put about 75 hours into beating Project X Zone.

Only a handful of games really...

Rainbow Six Vegas (was in the top 1000 players in the world on the PS3 leaderboards and climbing until my first PS3 died on me)

Battefield Bad Company (got so good at the game but since switching to wi-fi I can't stay connected to the EA servers)

Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 (still playing the crap out of this one)

Call Of Duty Black Ops 1 (still play this from time to time)

Elder Scrolls Oblivion (this game is epic and awesome, nuff said)

Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception (everyone knows I adore this title)

Hitman Blood Money (big fan of the series, I have probably completed this title more times than any game in my life)

Dark Souls- 615 hours (and counting) spread across 6 characters
Forza 2- I forget the exact amount, but at least around 200 hours.
Forza 3- Last time I checked the stats screen, 232 hours drive time, 224 hours in the menus (painting, etc) for a combined 556 hours playtime
Forza 4- 197 hours drive time, 176 hours in the menus, so 373 hours there
Borderlands 2: 560 hours
Borderlands: 250 hours
Burnout Paradise- ~250 hours
Pokemon Diamond- 432 hours, 26 minutes
Pokemon Black- 234 hours, 17 minutes
Skyrim- 300+ hours between two characters
TF2- 400-500 hours, split fairly evenly across the classes
Halo: Reach- 350 hours approx.
GTA IV- Around the 200 hr mark I believe
Dirt 2: About 140 hours there
Dirt 3: 200+ hours
F1 2011: Forget  exactly, but probably past the 200hr mark
Red Dead Redemption- About 150 hours, but I think Undead Nightmare tracks playtime seperately, so a little more than that.
Mass Effect Trilogy- At least 100hrs per numbered title
Super Smash Bros Brawl- 350 hours, looking at the game screen (I think Melee is actually the only game where I beat 1000 hours)
Donkey Kong Country Returns- 100+ hours
Metroid Prime 3 Corruption- 100+ hours

Sooo.... 23 off the top of my head. I regret nothing. To be completely honest, though, a lot of this playtime was done at a time when I was both unemployed and unable to attend school. Also, that's just listing last gen.

345 recorded hours in CS:S but I'm pretty sure they didn't start recording until 2010 or so and that was 2 years after i "stopped" playing, so I'm guessings its more like 1000+

Have 158 in CS:GO.  Been putting more into it since the update with the skins.  I've made $12 of Steam Credit so far selling stuff that dropped.

And thats it.  Next closest is Skyrim which as 83 hours.

150 hours playing Battlefield 3. I'm not scared of this, I'm actually kind of disappointed that this is the only game that can keep pulling me back in even after long breaks without playing it. There are just so many different ways you can approach the game, so many different guns and attachments and strategies and game modes that I haven't even come close to going through them all, it really never gets old for me.

I once put in a 24 hour session playing Gran Turismo 5. And that was only 1 session out of many, so pretty sure I broke 100+ on that one.

I don't have specifics but these are the games (this generation) that I'm sure I've spent more than 100 hours with:

Halo 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Dark Souls, Skyrim, Uncharted 2, Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas. There are several maybes in there too, such as Mass Effect 2 or Demon's Souls, but I'm unsure. I just started Yakuza 3 and it looks like that's the type of game I want to spend a lot of time with.

And no, it doesn't bother me, at all.

Hm..

PC:

Heroes of Newerth: Like 1,000 hours

League of Legends: 300-400 hours?

Smite: 1,500 games, no idea how much time that is

Guild Wars 2: 200 hours

Diablo 3: 200 hours

Team Fortress 2: At least 400 hours

Neverwinter Nights 2: At least 100 hours

Neverwinter Nights: At least 100 hours spread over the expansions and custom campaigns

Baldur's Gate 2: At least 100 hours

Dragon Age: Origins: At least 150 hours

Oblivion (mostly on Nehrim): 100ish hours

It doesn't really scare me considering real time with pause RPGs are consistently the games I spend the most time with, and the others are multiplayer games I went nuts on with buddies. I see myself playing a lot less this generation because I have a job and I tend to like varied experiences now instead of spending a ton of time on a single game. I'm going to probably play Project Eternity and Dragon Age: Inquisition through a couple times if they are any good though.

Doing some quick math, that's about 6000 hours. Are you sure dude? lol. Maybe embellished on some of those numbers? I mean there was a time when I would play games for 5 hours a day and even at that rate you're looking at 3.5 years for only 23 games. I'm not insinuating anything I'm just saying there are so many great games out there I'd go crazy only playing 23 games in 4 years.

I mentioned I was unemployed for a lot of the time that those gameplay numbers were completed. I did'nt have a lot of money to buy many games, so the ones that I did own, I played... a lot. I played for more than 5 hours a day for sure, but not in one session, instead, I played 2 or 3 sessions of anywhere from 2-3 hours. Actually, those numbers might be less than my memory serves me. Case in point- my Halo: Reach playtime, which I underestimated by about 100 hours: Link

...I know what your're thinking. Social life non-existent. Well, you'd be correct, actually. During these nearly four years of not having somewhere to apply myself, I did'nt get out much. I could'nt land a job and administrative issues kept me from being accepted into instutions of higher education. I basically became a ghost, no friends outside immediate family, no contacts, phone calls or emails from anyone. Games were about the only thing I had. It was a rather dark time of my life.

Since then though, I have been able to pull myself out of that unpleasant situation. I've since landed a job and recently returned to classes, so for a little over a year now, I've stepped back into a more "normal" routine, so I have far less time for games now. I've got games I bought last year that I still have'nt gotten around to. What's that comical example that floats around? "No money to buy games, all the time in the world to play them, but have money from work to buy games, never get around to playing them" Something like that.

So, in effect, yes. Those gameplay values I listed are reliably accurate. Sorry for the story, but I did want to clarify things since you quoted me. I'm not trying to present myself as some 1337 omg gamer who has the most playtime ever.

Over 10,000 Halo 3 ranked matches and 3,000 social matches + other stuff makes that game over 2,000 hours. I also put a ton of time into Perfect Dark Zero, Rainbow Six Vegas, Shadowrun and Oblivion.

Big_Red_Button

Don't think I've ever done that wow, and I thought I was bad.

over 100 hours recently peacewalker. and Fallout New Vegas.

if you include multiple playthroughs it will be a much bigger list: mgs3(Probably have gone through this game at least 10 times(probably a lot more actually)), FFX, Skies of Arcadia(actually going through it again), Tales of Symphonia, Dragon Age Origins, and probably a few more.

I don't think I have played that many hours on any individual game. I'm sure I have played over that much on all of the Call of Duty games total but that's probably everyone lol.

[QUOTE="firefox59"]

Doing some quick math, that's about 6000 hours. Are you sure dude? lol. Maybe embellished on some of those numbers? I mean there was a time when I would play games for 5 hours a day and even at that rate you're looking at 3.5 years for only 23 games. I'm not insinuating anything I'm just saying there are so many great games out there I'd go crazy only playing 23 games in 4 years.gpuFX16

I was trying to delve further without offending you and I hope I didn't. I'm kinda the same way. Couldn't find a job for awhile and I've only had a couple friends most of my life. I was just fortunate enough that since my parents paid for all my essentials any money I got from family or something I saved or put to games (with some books too lol) so I usually could get a game if I wanted it badly enough.

Not at all offended. And I tell you, I don't regret playing that much. There were any number of more malignant and dangerous things I could've gotten into to occupy that time period besides video gaming. And now I have more things going on to balance my time out. The reason I don't have Rayman Legends right now is that I recently dropped $400 for textbooks. :)

Quite a few.

  • Skyrim - 200 hours on PS3 and now 230 on PC
  • Gran Turismo 5 - I'd guess 300 hours
  • Shift 2 Unleashed - 200 hours
  • Need For Speed:  Shift - at least 100
  • Fallout 3 - around 100
  • New Vegas - around 100 on PS3 and quite a few on PC
  • Final Fantasy XIII - probably 200 with 2 playthroughs
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 - the platinum took well over 100 hours
  • The Saboteur - by the time I'd liberated every area in the game I'm sure I was over 100 hours
  • Kingdoms of Amalur:  Reckoning - that plat took over 100
  • Nier - farming for rare items to level up my weapons pushed it well over 100 I'm sure

Doesn't really "scare" me lol.  I'm married with kids - it's not like I'm missing out on any social life.  I'm a bit too old to be hanging out with my buddies and my wife gets mad if I go on dates.

It is a bit scary, but why worry if you did enjoy spending that time?

There are probably 20-30 games i have clogged in more than 100 hours combined. And 5 or 6 that i have clogged in more than a 1000 hours each!!!
