New Game Night Emblem for bringing another player

Phoeny brought a player last night and got me to thinking, why don't we have an emblem granted to those of you who either put a blog, signature or simply bring a friend to play in game night.

A while back we needed a member spotlight emblem and I asked fastesttruck to gather some talented emblem designers to create some. 

I recall a couple of emblems that we just might be able to use after asking the author's permission to use them. First, I wanted to see if any of these look appealing to you.  Here they are.

If these don't see too much like a game night theme we can always have an emblem creation actiivty dedicated to game night.

I have only played once for Game Night and that was L4D. I don't have a PS3 yet (despite owning some games), don't have an Xbox and my range of PC games are mostly single player. It's something I check, but there are very few games that interest me.

And I agree about the emblem - I think too many will just try to get the emblem then abandon what it sets out to achieve once they get it. Perhaps make it so they have to be part of the union, and have played a game night too, or something. And maybe make the reqs hidden? Just a thought.

I'm tied between Jerells and Borninvincibles...

Jerells emblem really stands out although Born's emblem is crisp and gets the point across. 

I'd have to go with Jerells.

and I somewhat do have agree with what sidburn said, but I guess as long as it's kept within this group it should be ok.

I like all the emblems but I think this one, because it has two players on it, best conveys the bring a friend theme.

I think this idea might back fire. Don't get me wrong, I like emblems. But I could see tons of people writing blogs for one week etc..getting the emblem and then never doing it again.Sidburn19

Great feedback Karl. There might be a need for two more emblems then. Some people are better at telling people about something rather than getting them to join them. An example for this is Realkilla's efforts to make sure everyone is aware of what game will be in game night for the week.Obviously, posting one time about it won't get a user noticed, so it can be a special emblem granted to those who give the most effort with awareness about an upcoming game night. 

The other is an actual emblem for those who bring another GameSpot friend. Phoenyx told us this is the new GS person she brought for the week, which is most important. The idea is to just have some new GameSpot users to drop by to experience game nights even if they never come back again. Sometimes there needs to be much more competition and a new person may bring that kind of environment for the week. 

So, jerrel's eagle could be someone who exposes game nights through a signature or helping users have awareness about the latest game night. borninvincible's could be the one where people bring a friend.

Basing it on consistency would be the best way to handle it. Otherwise we'll have a plethora of users advertising it once just for the emblem, and never doing it again. Which, I imagine, wouldn't help bring in more users for the game night.

I think that's perfect.

I like the first one and Jerell's. Jarell's I just think is awesome and I think it is good for bringing a friend or blog emblem. Who told you about GameNight? A little bird. The first one looks good for the spotlight but I don't know about GameNights. The last one looks good for bringing a friend.

I've brought friends before and put up a blog about the games I am able to join. I'll always be for Gamespot creating emblems that I can earn.

I think the more that start blogging and creating an awareness of the gamenights the better. They have been a bit sparce and it could use some new players to show up.
