Playing through half-life 2 right now since I haven't played it in a while and recently discovered, to my surprise, that it runs absolutely fine on my laptop. Then again my laptop - though low end in terms of hardware - is only a year old and half life 2 is 10 years old.
@elkoldo: Your predictions were correct, episode 2 of RER2 is still crappy but the trailer for episode 3 seems promising...I might give it a try since I'm being gifted the game anyway...
Having fun with Dragon Ball Xenoverse though...mindless fun for sure, but fun nonetheless...also an unrelated video I saw today...
I picked up Dragon Ball Xenoverse for nostalgia factor. Don't quite understand the hub mechanics though. Bit bemusing at first.
@indzman: We need a reboot, a sequel, ANYTHING! That game was amazing and still holds quite well today.

My fav FPS of all time :)
@indzman: Ah Jeanette...you always know what to say. Here's some money; go buy yourself something velvet you crazy bitch...
@indzman: You're going to make me replay the game yet again! >_< Wonder if it would ever run on Win8.

I'm running it on win 7 64 bit, not officcially patched V 1.02 but unofficial true GOLD patch on steam. I think you can run it on win 8 also with any latest unofficial patches on Win 8 :)
@indzman: You're always a good help =D New games keep on disappointing so it's always good to have solid, older games to fall back on.
Just installed The Evil Within and played though a few chapters...it's like Resident Evil and The Last of Us had an inbred child...and from what I heard it pretty much turns into a shootout à la RE6 later on...

Its pure survival and much more challenging than RE 6. On its harder modes its game over if you even get hit ( Akumu mode). Its all about ammo and spare parts conversion and tactically dealing with enemies with traps or environment. Spider Laura can be frustating for its insta kill, you can run away but if you decide to confront her, rewards are great ( max gel ). Upgrade your magnum to max asap to have a easy time with Laura. Personally i had a blast playing TEW lol.
@indzman: For me so far it's been enter an area, turn light off, let enemies roam for 30 seconds, see where they are farthest away from each other, stealth kill...only had to use bullets twice so far when I blew it. Also, if you shoot when the enemy is really close the bullets pass through then >_>
Just installed and tried Ori and the Blind Forest...man those first 10 minutes were heavy with feels ='( Great game so far.

If you enjoyed RE 4 you will enjoy TEW :)
Haven't played Ori yet , glad to hear you enjoying it very much Mr K :)
@indzman: I'll definitely keep playing TEW and I assume it gets a lot harder further on but for now it's really hard to feel any tension when I know I can dispose of an entire house full of monsters with one match >_> I'm trying not to play like that but did it twice to try and it's ridiculously effective. Stealth kill the first guy on an entrance to a dead-end room, run around pissing 6 or 7 monsters off (you can even run laps around them to bunch them up), run into the room dropping a match on the corpse as you walk by and there you go, 7 monsters burned to a crisp and you just saved yourself 10 minutes of stealth gameplay or a bunch of bullets...still feels completely wrong to leave bullets behind...so far all my upgrades have gone into ammo capacity since I don't really need anything else.
@elkoldo: You might be right, but I have it so why not give it a try? It takes a little over an hour to finish 2 sub-episodes anyway...and there's only one more episode to go so it puts the whole game at what? Maybe 6 hours long? Terrible...
Is it true Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster HD coming to PC this 25 march ???
Crap, I need to get moving! Still haven't finished XIII, then I need to play XIII-2 and Lightning Returns (is Lightning Returns on PC?)

Don't think LR is on PC atm, but gonna release soon as part of FF XIII Trilogy :)
@indzman: I was going to ask if it was worth it, but since you 100% all 3 I guess it is. The first XIII starts really slow so I was wondering if it gets better...think right now I'm in the first part where they divide in 2 groups (after winning the second GF..or whatever they call the summons in XIII)

Listen, FF XIII gets interesting from gran pulse section ( around midway from the game). You get to do optional cieth stone missions as part of side quests, ride chocobos, re visit old areas, but mind it game becomes increasingly hard from gran pulse for dangerous foes. Its best to level up team and favourite weapons to progress story and side quests.
FF XIII-2 is the best game in the trilogy in terms of story and gameplay, tons of side quests, mini games. Best thing is you can replay all sections after you beat game, works like NG +.
Lightning Returns is very tense as in order to get 100 % status you need to do every mission, side quests on timer ( 13 days before god ends world).Clock is always ticking like a Dead rising game and you have to do story quests, side quests within that period ( day ). No penalty if you miss, but bosses gets increasingly hard if you miss story missions by time. Better skip it if you hate missions on timers.
Verdict: Go for, and complete XIII-2 over XIII and LR :)
@indzman: I do dislike timers but especially if they're unfair. In some games it's ok like Dead Rising 3; I completed it with about half the time left on the clock.
I'll play all 3, thanks Indz =D
@korvus: Alright then fine.......6 hours altogether ain't worth arguing either...not to mention that you're getting it free
Speaking of which, something tells me you're a big piratebay boy, (no shame in that :P), 'cause it's the nth time that you claim you're getting a game for free. Shit, in John's thread you even said you and your wife got your phones for free.

Yep, you caught me, I torrent my iPhones XD
Seriously though, both my wife and I have our own companies and that's a deal some providers do with companies...my sister has the same thing with her company in Portugal.
As for the free games I thought everyone knew the story already. A few years ago I lent some serious cash to a friend so he could open a game store. The deal was that he would pay me back within a year but the business took quite a while to pick up so we made a different agreement. If I forgot about the money he would give me a lifetime supply of free PC games, so now he sends me a free copy of every game I want. If a particular game is selling well I sometimes have to wait 2 or 3 months for it but if it's not going anywhere I normally get a copy within 1 or 2 days (plus the time the mail takes to get here).
In the beginning I made the new deal it to benefit him since it would take quite a few years to pay me back, but now I'm benefiting from it...I told him he can stop sending the games but he refused and I'm not going to insist =P

Bought two of these games off steam (as well as the older ones). Don't get it, the combat feels disconnected with random almost random jump in's.
The lore is confusing as well. The modern ones take place in futuristic settings, but the older ones and the MMO's take place in medieval style settings with races that aren't in the new ones.
I like Realm Reborn, crafting is a class with skills and Armour, you can literally play the entire game (barring the story main missions) as a fisherman, armorer, weapon-smith e.t.c... They even side story quest lines.

TBH FF XIII trilogy is pretty meh, play FF X and XII to enjoy real FF. Combat is best enjoyed with a controller ... imo, random encounters are unavoidable except in FF -XIII/2 where you can use cheat to increase/decrease enemy encounters :)
Haven't played Realm Reborn, not into MMO stuff lol.

Same for the most part. Only like them if they have some focus on story and an interesting world to explore solo/coop.
Most of them you insta-click past quest logs to get to the end of the game, to get to raid content, to get the best loot. Then what?
It seems to be a massive buzz for folk, don't quite get it.
@korvus: Own companies...Jesus...are you guys with the mafia or a Shaikh or something ?
Yeah Mr K is a pretty Hotshot guy in Portugal :)
Yeah I should'a known.
At some point in the 2014 football world cup he mentioned something about being a bigshot in his country and how easy it would be for him to get close to Cris Ronaldo....I just didn't beleve it back then.................

You guys are hilarious but you're making me sound like a bit of a pompous douche for people who don't know me XD I blame Indz...he's the one who started the whole Ronaldo thing =P
Also, not all companies are multi-nationals with thousands of employees...I'm not an oil baron or anything of the sort...I just have my own physical therapy and rehabilitation practice...nothing fancy. My wife is self-employed, both as a musician and a teacher so she has her own company as well so we're about the same level as a company except she tours a lot more than me =P She just came back from Italy and will be going to Scotland in a few weeks while I stayed here fixing people's hips...get me some Scottish people with hip problems dammit! XD

You are too modest Mr K ( Never seen you bragging or being a snob about yourself ), thats why everyone likes you on OT so much :)

Yep, everyone loves me *discreetly closes the curtains to hide the mob with torches and pitchforks standing in the lawn* I'm just very likable =D
But seriously, I have a pretty good life but I'm not the bragging type, although every now and then something slips, especially when it comes to my marriage, but my wife is so amazing and makes me so happy it's hard not to brag =X But it's out of happiness, it's not intended to make me feel like I'm better than anyone else or to rub anything on their face. I wish my happiness onto everyone in these forums, even the asshats =P
hi
anyone wants to battle in a pokemon guild or be a gym leader to battle people
hi
I would but I only have a good-for-nothing caterpie. Useless piece of shit!
Ok, let's go!
From all the times I have been playing Pokemon, I always found Ditto to be pretty useless. I only used a Ditto once and that was back when I played Pokemon Silver when I was a wee lad.

For me the Pokemon games (only played GB and GBA games since I friend had them) was always about collecting, never really cared about the battles...power level for 2 or 3 hours and just beat the Elite 4 with 1 Pokemon.
On a different note I'm starting to get pissed off. Windows 8 users haven't been able to connect to NBA2K15 for 4 days now and 2K doesn't seem to give a damn. Their tweet updates are about how you can save money on MT's and what the team is eating...wth?

I stopped trying to catch all the Pokemon after Silver myself. :P
Windows 8 problems huh? I would get some technical problems with it myself (rarely) since I too have Windows 8 but sometimes a quick restart helps. Not sure about the games and their connections though, every time I had a problem with one of them, I would verify the game cache to make sure there is no corrupt or missing files. However in your case, 2K is more concern about how much money they're making by the minute.
